I agree with the OP, and there is something about this response that really really bugs me. People all make stupid mistakes, while I dont know the exact reasons for why the driver in the example was in an accident, it could have been due to a lapse in judgement. There is not one person in here who can claim that they have made a bad call, it is very very unfortunate that in this case, he paid with his life.

To the moderator-
I understand that you trying to maintain peace and structure in here, but i dont think it has to do with the confinement of the rules. To me, it seems more like a question of morals. As a moderator, I would think that you of all people should see this.

I know that I havent been on the boards here, and this is by far a cry to action, im just putting in my .02 cents in a topic that I have strong feelings toward.

(Only read the first page so if this was brought up disregard my message)

Because something bothers you doesnt mean you have to restrict it for everyone else. Last time I checked I do believe we're allowed to voice our opionons about topics such as fatalities and what not. Suck it up and move on....dont let the internet get you all butthurt.

I think Charles put it best.

I can understand why people might not like to see those posts, but I personally don't see a compelling reason there should be a rule against making them. Not that my opinion matters all that much in the grande scheme of EvoM things.

honestly its extremely difficult for someone to genuinely symphasize for a person who he/she has never met or known in their life.... when someone passes everyone loves to reply "my prayers goes to your family" etc but honestly, did they really pray for that family? most likely not.

i wont jump on the bandwagon for either side but i cant really say im gonna shed a tear for your friend. he did something stupid and he paid the price. hopefully other's will learn from his mistakes. done.

Whose morals? Mine? Yours? The guy in Iceland who posts here? Sorry man, I hear what you're saying, but I will be the last one to impose my own moral view on how I moderate here. Everybody has a right to express their view here, as long as it's done within the rules structure. Yes, even (and especially) if I don't agree with it. If I weeded out the things I (and the rest of the Mods for that matter) didn't personally agree with, It'd get really boring around here fast and be counter to a main purpose of this website: a forum for discussion and exchange of views.

I read about this incident on my local forum and commented on it there. Showing no sympathy for the driver, only stating that driving wrecklessly with Passengers is dumb.

This forum is nation-wide and I knew if would be full of sympathy and some off-color remarks, which is why I purposely stayed away from that topic here.

.. . not everyone has the same thoughts/morals as you, relax
it was so much easier when we could all agree and just hate on FJF

You call being respectful to this driver being mature? I call that being ignorant. I believe all the negative comments regarding this driver are correct and he did get what he deserved. Mature is acknowledging it wasn't yourself that was in this situation and being able to get upset at the party involved because he could have taken out so many people in the process.

Something I forgot to include in my rambling post was "what if the crash ended up killing the girlfriend instead of the driver" or "what if the crash ended up causing a multicar pileup that left 10 dead" ?

Again, people would be singing a different tune.
