street racing and things like that i agree with your rules 1000% voicing ones opinion on a topic and getting a spanking for it because ''they'' think its flaming is complete bull crap. especially when one did not start the hole thing. it was opinion on 2 parties. not flaming. then when talking about it in pm you get ignored. and a member has no say in anything.

If you can't tell the difference between expressing an opinion and calling someone a sissy *****, I don't know what to tell you.

Flaming is flaming, the infraction has nothing to do with what side you're on but how you express your opinion. Here's an example:

Person 1: I believe that abortion is a woman's right and as a civilized society we do not have the authority to dictate what an individual can do with their own body.
Person 2: Well you must be a satan loving homo who kills babies in their free time cause abortion is wrong. Go **** yourself you ****ing ****.

Now then, of the two, who posted the more mature response? An opinion is fine, everyone has the right to an opinion but expressing it in an offensive and belligerent manner is not acceptable. We support and encourage open dialogue between members, all we ask is people give it civilized as they would if they were face to face.

well he called me out and started with me. . so i said come on over to nj. calling him a sissy is not flaming. if you think it is then you guys need to really step up your game and start handing out more points and cleaning up this forum.. i consider flaming picking on some one who asks really dumb questions a simple search can answer, someone who makes fun of another's grammar or spelling for being less educated then someone else. thats flaming. imho but i have no say. so what i called the kid a sissy. he called me stuff to and i surely didnt take it to hart. we were bickering over hotside size with a little compaction in are blood tord each other.

Just because he calls you out doesn't mean you need to go and act like a dink too, this isn't elementary school. The best thing you could have done is just report the post and let the moderators do their job. By getting into a flamefest with him you simply lowered yourself to his level.

Maybe because you own a WRX I couldn't afford the insurance let alone the car... anyway I'm not familiar with the point system I didn't even know it was in place.

Dan, About all I can say is don't post angry. If you think someone's trying to get a rise out of you, report it or ignore it. If you respond negatively to everything that's ever posted that you don't agree with, then you will probably have a short stay.

I think this has run its course. Closed.

Hi Ludikraut,

The point system was implemented a year ago and apparently transparent to you; which is good. I can give you the reasons and benefits of the point system, but I assume "what's bugging you" goes beyond an administrative score sheet?

You have been a valuable contributor to this site and your opinions and concerns are important. Generally when these types of issues are posted, it is in response to a recent moderator action and not a chronic concern. So what happened?

Speedlimit...

[QUOTE=ambystom01;5251926]Wow, I ...QUOTE]

lol, oh no... you're a moderator now? Oh Lord... what is this world coming to.

I think the rules have gotten a bit silly too... I'v gotten a 'warning' for vending w/o a vendor status... when if the mod would have checked my website and posts he would have seen that I've never made any offer to do anything for a specified price. People have paid me for my services etc... but there is no reason to go deleting my signature and such.. It took quite a few back and forth PMs to semi-striaghten things out, but still... it was rediculous.

May God truly help us... cuz I know Amby won't... lol.

Folks,

This thread has a specific topic and it is not an invitation to "tell us everything" that has happened to you. If you have specific concerns then PM any staff member. If you feel that an issue should be discussed here, then please start a separate thread. Thanks.

As most of the mods have mentioned, these "new rules" are pretty old and have been around for more then a year. To me it sounds like someone broke a rule and is mad about the situation. As Speedlimit mentioned, the best thing to do is to pm one of us.

It's funny how in the last year or two this site has become "Member's Vs. Mods"

Like it's a control thing.

To all the members on this forum. It's not a public forum. It once was.........but it's not anymore....and it's controlled by politics, money, and leverage.

I suggest someone starting a new evo forum.

But thats just me.

It has always been a privately owned forum that is open to the public. I'm sorry but it makes me laugh when users think they know it all just because their pride got hurt when they broke a rule. I'm sure someone can start another forum but I can almost guarantee you they will probably enforce rules with Mods and you will probably run into the same situation. If you do, you may want to cut and paste the same response you made here because it never gets old...
