Second is, we as a policy, do not endorse or approve of it in any way. So anything street racing is out. As for totaling car stories...it depends on how they are presented. If you say I was flying down the road at 125 and wrecked, its gone. If you simply say I totaled my car without any details that would link it to street racing, there is no reason to remove it. Now if we removed discussions on modifying your car, there would be no more site. Further more, its not illegal everywhere, and this is a national/international site. We don't break down laws by state

Sorry, I didnt clarify what I had ment by modifications that are illegal. If it doesnt past visual inspections, or the emmission tests. That would be an illegal modification. Also posting ways arround those laws may need to be looked at, as in that could mean that the person posting it would be contributing to breaking a federal and state law.

No biggie as my states doesnt have any inforcable emissions laws I was just trying to bring an example to this thread.

For those of you in nor cal and so cal check out norcalevo.net and socalevo.net.

I love SoCalEvo and would be there were it not blocked here at work. It's heads and shoulders above this forum just with a lot less people obviously. If you guys in other areas could model a local forum after either of those forums you'd be in good shape.
Local forums are just that, local. They're useful for organizing meets and socializing.

When you have a technical question about the Evo, someone usually references a thread on EvoM. The advantage of size is that there is so much info here, it can be difficult to sort through at times. The disadvantage is that we have more trouble makers, more arguments, etc. A lot of people hide behind their screen name, which is much harder to do when everybody has met you. The point system is a tool we use to enforce the rules, which are in place to ensure that people can't hide behind the screen name and e-thug the people with legitimate questions or problems.

The 99% of our members who've never received an infraction or been banned obviously don't have a problem following the rules they agreed to when they signed up.

I'm just bitter because I can't bash or flame noobs who constantly start stupid threads. If I were a mod I'd lock every one of them.

Just like this:

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=323737

Terrible title, silly question.

BAM!!!

And I would just straight up ban this guy:

To all the members on this forum. It's not a public forum. It once was.........but it's not anymore....and it's controlled by politics, money, and leverage.

I suggest someone starting a new evo forum.

But thats just me.
Lol yeah us mods are actually sitting on piles of cash while having sex with supermodels. It was never a public forum, it has always been a private forum where there are clear rules to follow. All that's changed is we now have a system where there are specific points for specific infractions.

I enjoy reading member's comments and suggestions in this forum even though some are critical. However, that is what you get, when you ask people what's on the minds and you need to be prepared to listen.

However, I am not prepared to accept criticism of this site from you. I invite members to review your post history of useless off topic comments, then double the amount to reflect what was removed. How do I encourage you to spend all your time on Norcal? (a rhetorical question don't answer it).

I can't help but LOL every time I see you post. Canada, where the Evo VIII and IX aren't even legal.

I think the rules have gotten a bit silly too... I'v gotten a 'warning' for vending w/o a vendor status... when if the mod would have checked my website and posts he would have seen that I've never made any offer to do anything for a specified price. People have paid me for my services etc... but there is no reason to go deleting my signature and such.. It took quite a few back and forth PMs to semi-striaghten things out, but still... it was rediculous.

May God truly help us... cuz I know Amby won't... lol.

Tis true, although there are two legal Evo VIII in Calgary and I believe 12 made it in to the whole country before the ban was implemented. Supposedly they might change the rules thus making them legal.

As they should.

You can link them to all the threads on the forums of shredded Evos posted by the numerous survivors.

The problem isn't the safety rating, it's the impact rating. Mitsubishi didn't bother to put a 5 lb piece of rebar in the front bumper so in a standard test collision, too much damage is caused to the front end (namely the intercooler).
