Sounds like Jestr wouldn't mind using that facility...
This happenened with 3.5k miles on the car. Yes, I know how to drive. Yes, the clutch was slipping some at 3.5k miles so I changed it.
First off when I left the shop there was a ticking noise but he said that was normal clutch chatter. 150-200 miles later I get a horrible whining noise from my TC. I call them and ask what fluid they used. He told me Synchromesh with TX-7 additive. I told him that Synchromesh will ruin my tranfer case and it probably already too late. He then told me he uses it in 650hp EVo's and I'm barking up the wrong tree with my concerns about the fluid. I immediately stopped driving until I switched out for OEM but it really was too late.
At this point I didn't have my invoice yet for the clutch job, and I ask him for it. He sends me an invoice for the clutch job with remarks that my transfer case appeared to have excessive wear. He said that he based that opinion on the metal flakes on the magnetic drainplug, which I would bet were the normal amount for a first time fluid change. The transfer case did not make any noise at all before he ruined it, no ticking, no whining, no anything. Basically I'm sure he put the comments on after we spoke about the noises.
Fast forward to today. He refused to be responsible for the damage, and I ended up having to pay 4k at the dealership. With the new transfer case there is none of the ticking that he said was clutch chatter either. 4k wasn't enough money to me to warrant getting a lawyer involved, but I am still pissed.

chase123, I had the same thing happen to me at another shop a few years ago. They put Syncomesh in my TC after I told them not too. I lost my transfer case and I had problems with my tranny. I had GIECO mechanical break down coverage and they paid for a new tranny and transfer case. They tested (Blackstone Labs) the Synchromesh and it had broken down inside the TC and it was burnt. That stuff will work in a DSM, but not in an Evo. The shop refused any responsibility so GEICO told me they would worry about that. I will happily let Enginelogics know for you if you need to convince them.
JESTR makes such good numbers. Lemme know a date.

dec 9 sounds great
So I see that it's $175 an hour for the dyno rental, how many hours do you think it would take to tune my type of basic setup? I dont forsee myself having anything more then TBE, fuel pump, mbc, and possibly the forge wastegate actuator (still considering only).
Any ideas?

Otherwise you end up paying a lot more and you can't just drive down the road if something goes wrong. A good friend of mine just got custom tuned at Precision R and he ran a 11.9@115 up at SAR last time we went up. His driveablity is great. Just thought I would shoot that out.
Folks I don't mean to hijack this thread, but please help me out with this. I'm trying to figure out how you can get tuned without using a dyno. I'm not a car guru, so please explain. I am going to be doing some major installs in the near future and I plan to use a UTEC (TurboXS Piggy back). I've searched all over this forum, and all I see are people getting rid of their UTECS. Why is this? To date, I've been very satisfied with the UTEC. I really like the ability to switch maps. I am confused about whether to go the UTEC route or this ECU Flash thing.
What is the difference between an ECU Flash, and an ECUTEK? Can either of these store multiple maps? I like something that once it's done I can forget about it. I don't want to have to get reflashed every other month. Will this thing pass emissions also? I have heard horror stories of ECU's being burnt out or corrupted. Is this true? Is it better to run the Stock ECU or is it better to use the UTEC? My goals is 450whp.
By the way, Dec 9th might be too early for me. I don't think the car would be ready yet, but I'll keep you posted.
I heard that there is a shop in New Braunfels, Texas that is suppose to be getting a new dyno (Dyno Dynamics) as we speak (same one like the one at Engine Logics in Houston, which is pretty good). I don't know what the name of the shop is, but I'll see if I can find it - or mayboe someone here knows about this. I think it would be a shorter commute for most of us, rather than having to drive all the way to Houston. Also, since it is a brand new dyno, we might be able to get a better deal pricewise.

I think I know what shop you are talking about, but the last time I talked to them (a while back) they were just doing a DynoJet. If they are going "Big Guns" and getting a Dyno Dynamics, that would be the ONLY place in Texas I would go! Even if I lived in freakin' El Paso (that's about three or four state's worth of driving for you Yank's, but actually still in Texas for us locals)
BTW, I LOVE my Jestrtune remote flash... it took a weeks worth of logs and flashes, but I like it better everyday
Don't miss the Xede/SMART... at all!
