Yeah, I'm going to go beyond that and add a gallon of 87 octane once I get into town that way I know I don't have the "best" fuel in the car when its getting tuned, I'd rather loose a couple ponies on the dyno and gain assurance with fuel.

Thanks Zeus

That's what your low octane map is for... Not only are you sacrificing a few ponies, you're adding to the possibility of detonation during a 7500 rpm fully loaded dyno pull.

Looks like I get to try out my home made 93 octane fuel. My town is weird. We dont have 93 at the pump, but we have 101.

Houston is now predominantly, if not fully 10% ethanol. And the dyno shows it! It's still advertised as 93 octane though. Enginelogics will have race fuel for sale if needed.

Batmann!, you in? We've got room. The dyno is secured, Jestr will be here, don't miss the opportunity! The weather in Houston might be a little wet, but not freezing or hazardous. I actually saw some blue sky late today.

Damn it, Guess I'll just leave it at 93 oct then ey Josh?

Oh well, guess the joy of filling up 87 oct will have to wait for another time

Junaid, you scare me some times... no really you do j/k But seriously, I understand the logic in wanting to safegaurd against the possibility of a bad batch of gas but our ecu's have the capability to tell if this is the case and will switch to a secondary map. I just wouldn't want to risk the potential for detonation any more than I have to when pushing the car on the dyno. That's just me though.

Swordfish, what's the cost of living in your area? I like the idea of 101 octane at the pumps

Good luck to everyone on thier tunes. Don't forget to boost leak test your cars before you get thier. Very important to make sure you are completely leak free before you get tuned. It is also not a bad idea to swap in a new set of plugs or have some handy. If anyone in SA needs to borrow a tester and compressor let me know. I have the day off tomorrow and could offer help. Hopefully the weather will clear up a little this weekend.

Wow Inprogress, filling up with 87 is a far piece from a gallon of 89.

To clear the air real quick, I will not be making it due to a family medical issue requiring a stay in the hospital on Friday. I was trying to find someone I trusted to take my car for me, but was unable. With more pressing issues at hand, I didn't even get the car ready this last weekend anyway. So my time slot is open. I hate it that I can't make it... a lot! However, family ALWAYS comes first. Thanks to those of you who contacted me in reference to meeting you guys. Hopefully we can do so another time.

Mitsuorder... my youngest DID get a RED RIDER BB gun for X-mas

Also you guys need to have the center section if not your whole under tray removed BEFORE you tune time... WAY before your scheduled time. Do not plan on it being done on the dyno!

I would have love to bring your car out man but with the one year mark for me and the lady coming on the same date there was just no way to swing it. Take care of the wife and send her our best wishes. The comment about the red rider bb gun was because for some odd ball reason you talking about losing an eye to an icicle reminded me of that godawful movie "a christmas story".

Also j8 brought up a good point about the leak testing. I'll be in Helotes and San Antonio area tomorrow with my mobile shop including welded metal endcap boost leak tester + gauge if there is any last minute trouble shooting needed

Not sure what dyno cost is, but if there is extra time a friend of mine was looking to make some pulls in his 911 turbo. Might help get the dyno cost per person down a bit if a tuning slot doesn't get filled up. Let me know .
