Kingpin Performance

I live here in Dallas and I am thinking of going to Kingpin Performance to get a re-tune due to the addition of my meth kit. From what I understand they are a EcuTek dealer but that does not mean that they know what they are doing or even if they tune at the Dallas location. Does anyone have any information or words of advice? MZM Performance did the previous tune but do to their shop being in Austin and them being really busy we can't seem to make our schedules meet up. Therefore I am looking for a shop/tuner local to the Dallas area. I only request useful information please.

Thanks EvoM community,

Cameron

you should talk to john4321 first, cause his car was there for a long time installing a 50 trim and ended up blowing his motor!

John from Jestr is great tuner. I just got my e-flash from him and it been great so far. Increase in power and gas mileage. A custom tune is always better though.

I will never do business with Kingpin again. There customer service sucks.... I ordered a few parts from them and I did not hear anything from them for a month. I called them up and they blew me off several times. After 2 months I put in a desput with my credit card company and I posted a thread on NASIOC about them. It finally got taken care of but 2 months and never received my parts or money back until I started bashing them on the forums. They suck and you should not give them any business. I am not the only person they have tried to screw over just go to www.nasioc.com and do a search....

I would like to echo the feelings of EVO8904. My Subi buddies have had some really really bad experiences with Kingpen. I am not here to slam them as "I" have never had any direct dealings with them.

But, I can direct anyone that want to hear it from someone that bought $2000 worth of wheels and tires and here it is 3 months later and he still doesn't have them... Hmmm...

PS- Kingpen if you want me to delete this thread, I would gladly do so if you prove me wrong.

Thanks for all of the information. Is Jester going to be going to Houston or Dallas?

First of all let me echo the feelings of the negative comments made above about Kingpin in Dallas. They recently charged a friend nearly 9k for various services to his STI plus told him that ECUTek was no good and that he needed to change engine management over to a UTEC. After they told him his Perrin IC wouldnt work with a 35R they promptly sold him one of their IC kits instead of just building a new LICP and tuned the car which blew up a couple of weeks later. The car ran like complete A$$ after the tune. Big lag, no power (running same times as the previous 20G setup). The tuner even suggested that he have someone else tune it for more power.

Jestr. Houston. Engine Logics. January 20th.

The post is in this forum.

Was this at the shop in Dallas or the one in AZ? I have not been able to find any positive feed back.

PM me if you're interested in someone local to DFW. i'm not totally sure what i can do with your ECUtek... basically i'll have to hook my laptop up to your ECU and see what i can do. i should be able to un-ECUtek your car so that the ecuflash works, at which point anyone can tune your car. it will however remove the ECUtek flash from your car, as well as void any ECUtek warrantys/garantees that you may have.

Stay away from this shop. They are nothing but bad news. If you go there and something wrong happens, don't come here to complain about it because you will be told "i told ya so". See this link

http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...106722&page=96

There is about 60 pages of bad things that they have done. You decide if you want to do business with them.
