Unhappy evo vs. hail

was at the northeast mall this afternoon...and as we were walking out the parking lot (evo was parked out in the open) i saw what looked like the tail of a funnel cloud...so told the wife and kids to hurry up and get in the car, to drive it into the parking garage, and as i was backing up, sure enough hail started falling...i was like oh snap!!! i drove to the parking garage as quick as i could..but not quick enough, my evo got hit on the side right in between the left tail light and under the spoiler...dented the panel about 3/4 of a tennis ball and peeled the paint off...i'm so sad right now..can't really be pissed coz there's nothing i can do about it. i'll post some pics when i can.

it was freakin' tennis ball/golf ball size hails dude...and as i was backing out, i saw this small very white bright pieces kinda like sliding around the ground...me being from california had to stare at it for like 5 seconds to figure out what it was till i saw them bouncing off the ground and the lil noggin realized they were hail...they got bigger and bigger the faster i drove too...lol! i'm serious though, i guess we were lucky enough we got in the parking garage almost in the nick of time.

Wow, I'm sorry to see that the hail got you. Even out here in Los Angeles, I've hearing about the severe weather warnings in your area since this morning. Luckily you were able to get your Evo in the parking garage before the damage was much worse.

Sorry to hear that man, my friend works over there right by the mall and his new toyota truck was a lot worse than yours. He counted 20 dents like yours. The hail was golfball sized and he put a few in his freezer for proof just in case.

You should have told the hail you would only run it from a dig. You would have easily pulled at least 2 snowballs legths from it at 60 ft. and then made it to the garage a full 12 snowballs lengths before it had a chance to even think about pulling on you...lol..seriously though, I feel for ya.

Sorry bro! My car got hailed on tonight was well in Richardson, but fortunately it was short lived and they were only large gravel sized. I have yet to find any damage.

Glad you guys weren't hurt personally...Fort Worth had a number of people hurt by hail like that years back. It came up quick at an outdoor event. Tarrant county usually gets the worst of things like this...

"May 5, 1995 -

a supercell thunderstorm rapidly developed just ahead of a fast moving bow echo squall line and blasted Tarrant County, Texas. Large hail up to 5 inches in diameter, driven by 80 mph winds, caused a tremendous amount of damage. 10,000 people were caught out in the open at Mayfest in Downtown Forth Worth, resulting in 109 injuries from the large hail. Torrential rains of up to 3 inches in 30 minutes and 5 inches in one hour across Dallas caused unprecedented flash flooding, resulting in 16 deaths. Total damage in Forth Worth alone was estimated at 2 billion dollars, making this the costliest thunderstorm event in U.S. history. This was the third severe hailstorm to Strike the area in only a little over a month."

Dizamn, my car is parked somewhere in the DFW metroplex over the weekend while i'm out of town and all this bad weather is happening, i hope she's ok...on the flipside, having insurance pay for a Carbon Fiber trunk and hood wouldn't be bad either.
