Thumbs up Pre MSR meet up and cruise.

Don Herring track day is almost upon us and I have to say I am excited and I am sure everyone else is as well. Some of the fun of the day is the long drive out to MSR and I would love to have a huge entourage of cars cruzin to MSR together. Below is the route that those of us in Plano will most likely be taking. If you live anywhere nearby this route you should get a hold of me and we will meet you on the way. I have organized ride alongs like this before when I lived in Japan and always had large caravans of sports cars on race days. It will be most enjoyable. I also have a 12.1 megapixel camera and will be getting plenty of video and pics of the trip going and of course of everyone at the track.

The plan:
For those who live in the plano vacinity. (or anyone else who wants to come join us.)

8:00 AM - Meet and get some breakfast. (Any ideas where?)
9:00 AM - Leave and head for MSR. The trip will take about 1:30 minutes from Plano so that should leave some time for meeting people along the way.

As of right now the following people are definitely in: (Please add your name to the list.)

MrMTB - Matthew
Myself - Justin
Greg - Corvette
Mike Hersey - 2007 Ford Mustang Saleen

Map of route: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/plano+tx/cresson+tx/

Hope to see as many people as possible show up.

-- Justin

P.S. Anyone wishing to organize from another area and will unable to meet this group. Feel free to post up in here for a meeting place close to you.

Good idea, thanks for posting this
that route should be great for keeping a bunch of cars organized...

If anyone wants to be there earlier,
Jim and I will be on I-20 about 9:30ish

I'd like to recommend the Einstein's Bagels on 15th and Central. Leaving the lot not later-than 9 AM.

Oh ****! It's not my fault, that's how Scott told me to spell it.

See you then. Bring plenty of water and cash.

water, water, water
drink it the whole trip down, in the meetings, etc.
Once the day begins, its very difficult to keep hydrated...
I guarantee every driver will feel dehydrated by 5pm

GASOLINE-RaceTrackGasStation 1/2 mile south of I-20 on hwy377 (Benbrook,Tx)
Its much more expensive in Cresson, but there is a new station/snack bar at the MSR entrance on 377

What are the prices like at the new place, and do they have higher octane fuels there?

the new place at the MSR entrance,
has street pumps w/prices slightly lower than the Shell and Mobil in Cresson
they also have unleaded race gas at 3 different octane levels

all this is months old info-as they say experiences may differ
they also have a restaurant etc, but i've never eaten there

the cheapest places to top the tank on your way are usually in Benbrook

and since it'll be dry tomorrow, plan on using 1.5 tanks of gas for the four sessions. Fill up in Benbrook on the way in, and top off at the new place after session 2.

Thanks, kelly. We'll see you tomorrow.
