Methanol

I need some help finding methanol in the Dallas metroplex area. Maybe everyone can post who carries it to make life easier for everyone. I did contact Gotham Racing and they notified me that they do not carry it.

If I'm not mistaken, your local auto parts place will carry washer fluid that is mainly methanol based. Take a look on the label and the main ingrediant is methanol. You can mix this with purified water 50/50 and it should work fine. Although I don't know the way your mixing it.

Just make sure that meth doesn't have "top-gear" lube in it. That could destroy the seal in the pump. I stuck to VP M1 methanol for that reason.

I would suggest Jotech and Speedtek. I'm no longer fond of Alamo.. I work in the oilfield and have access to it. I'm currently working on buying a few drums and selling it. I can get it pretty cheap. I should know in a few days I'm just waiting to see what the minimum quantity I will have to buy is.

Well I stopped by Jotech today and picked up 5 gallons at $7 a gallon. They said they didnt have much left but were getting a new drum in the next few days. Alamo wanted $9 dollars a gallon. At this rate its going to be cheaper to buy a 55 gallon drum and store it in my garage.

That and if you bought a barrell you could sell off some of it to offset your costs. Just a thought.
