OK, I propose that we have two membership levels:

Member - Owns an Evo or verified to have previously owned an Evo (evoMojo, EvoBZ)
Booster - non-owner enthusiast. (Doesn't get club benefits? Heck, what are the benefits?)

The names are immaterial- I just want to ensure that we have some way to include non-owner enthusiasts in the mix.

Sounds like you either need to be an EVO club or a car club. Honestly, I haven't come out to NTEC because its appeared to be inclusive of Lancers and while I can appreciate the effort and likeness, I own an Evo . Lancer Turbo or not, it aint an Evo. I feel sure there is room in N Texas for a Lancers club, although I doubt you will have a lot of Evo's pushing to join. As for others ( other car owners) if they feel they want to attend pls do. As for myself--when I can see the value, and an Evo specific club would be a start, I may attend. If I can work it in with work, travel and family which are priorities to owning an Evo. You asked for opinions--just voicing one. Evom.net could take a few pointers from this thread as well.

I think this needs to be discussed at the next leadership meeting.

Members- Evo owners(past or present) only
Invited guests-everyone else. This includes the new Lancer Ralliart(not an Evo)
I would suggest the Ralliarts have their own club though

I agree, I think NTEC should be evo owners/previous owners. All others are welcome to meets/events.

Like I said earlier if you own an Evo or ever owned an Evo before if you chose to remain in the club that is fine. As far as benefits I am talking about logging into the website and actually being an official NTEC member.

If you own a Lancer and really want to own an Evo in the future people can join EvoM and the other enthusiasts websites out there. Someone can also start an Evo enthusiasts club and they are more than welcomed to participate in NTEC club events, just not as an NTEC member. Sometimes I like to have a lot of pride in my car with my fellow Evo owners.

Really? You didn't go to a meet because you thought it included Lancers? If you had come to just one meet (Spring Creek BBQ), you would have seen one or two Lancers and 15-20 Evo's. One of the Lancer owners now has an Evo. The other has a turbo (I think) and a Forum about all Lancers.
This discussion is mute and should stop. If you don't have an Evo, you wont join the club. Nobody is going to put an NTEC flyer under a tricked-out Lancer windshield wiper. If you want to remove "Even if it's not an Evo" from the website, then we can do that.

There are too many grey areas. You are either in or out, and the only way in is with an EVO.

The group has spoken. I will add to the membership requirements that you own an Evo, or are a legacy Evo owner (someone we know who has owner an Evo).

yeah it was oringally for me cause of my Turbo Lancer....cause i came from Washington where i was part of the EVO club there...and the club was just forming when i came back....so i say this.

As far as members go just EVO....then we can have a groupie section....they can hang out do what we do, but as far as membership....shirts...discounts, etc...EVO owners only.

or just keep it stat quo....cause i dont want our group to become *******s like vette/porcshe/camero clubs are...the "were better than everyone" attitude....even though we know its true...
