Guys,

This is a battle we will not win on the front lines. Let the "higher authorities" duke this one out behind close doors. Just be cool and lay low.

first from our point of view:

1) no rules were broken, yet both robertK and SASD209 are treating this issue like our threads (which are very informative and useful) are breaking rules/cluttering the internet/causing problems/running people away from evom. RobertK has repeatedly deleted threads by vendors about events hosted by them. this has been an issue in the past, and the reason there is a sticky at the top of the south region called "events: please read". if we were not breaking any rules by making informative posts, what was the problem that required combining everything into 1? if clutter is the problem, wouldn't making the event schedule a sticky so we don't need to make a new post every time help?

2) my comments about robert that you deleted SAS, were well deserved on his part by his post concerning my questions. his comment was rude, and uncalled for. ask anyone from our region who has tried to deal with him the response he gives. the answer is always unwilling to negotiate, and "xxxx and I had separate talks w/ him and both of us got irrational, inflamatory responses that made us both individuallly realize we were mistaken to have even corresponded w/him in the first place"

3)is this the image Internet brands wants to be portrayed by? - we don't need your money or your vendors. we have vendors lined up out the door waiting to pay to advertise. - we don't want your clutter in the south region so go make your own webpage and keep your traffic off ours

"Nobody is running anybody off....we're just not caving into demands that we do not see a compelling reason for. We were offering a solution for your posting problem...if it takes traffic away but makes the most sense for your club, so be it. "

we didn't have any demands. we asked a simple question, can we have a moderator? - no can we have a subforum? -no ok, no big deal, we will just keep doing what we have always done. then you go and say we are cluttering the internet? and merge everything into one? how does that solve anything. i even asked a question about the use of the social groups functio that has been added recently, and you deleted it.

i don't know what to do. i think many of the other car clubs/regions would like a better way of communicating as well and possibly admin/mods can use user feedback to improve the webpage rather then shoving everything in the regional sites into a corner.

If you want to bring up some of the old stuff, what about the Free Cody/Free whoever else that got banned spam that NTEC did a few years ago? It was all over evo general and every other section you all could possibly post in. Do you know how much hassle that caused the Mod staff? "NTEC's at it again" was a common phrase.

how many points/bans did it take before someone got a vending package?

How many times has various NTEC members posted content that isn't allowed on here? Everything from street racing to nudity, all here in the South region.

How many times has entire NTEC groups gone to bash vendors (Dynoflash comes to mind)

As for me deleting threads, we have a mod forum, if there is a controversy about a delete or possible delete, it gets posted there. Of all the events that I deleted, 1 was ruled that it probably shouldn't have been. 1. out of the probably hundreds that was deleted in the South region alone. That thread was edited to take out the parts that shouldn't be in there and put back in the south forum.

I don't have a problem with anyone that is NTEC, I just want you to obey the site rules as everyone else does.

that was obviously a immature act on our part, but the reason he got banned was for spamming about how Al "garanteed" his tunes, yet would not give cody his money back after it was obvious the tune didn't work out for him. there are now much better ways to bring things like this to light. thats also where the dynoflash bashing all came from.

i've never recieved any points or been banned if you are refering to me. i've had posts deleted, and i've had friends who have written reviews about me get deleted as well. once i realized i could afford the monthly dues based off the work evom would allow me to received, i filed for a tax ID, got a business license, and signed up for vendor status. i think thats considered a success story on your part because i stopped trying to fight the system and join it
has it helped my business? absolutely. has my posting on evoM helped evom users? absolutely.

never seen nudity in the south region that i can recall, but i'm sure your right it happens. i have seen street racing talk though, and thats problematic with every forum i read that doesn't allow talk about it. for the most part even the average users know it isn't allowed and it is self-policed.

the big one you speak of was the cody incident. and that was only one time (although spammed on every forum). other then that if it has happened multiple times for unrelated incidents it might speak of the vendor, not the people bashing them.

we can argue this point till the cows come home, but for the many people in the south region that have had posts disappear, we thought we were in the right and have gone out of our way to make sure they follow the rules, yet without any warning or asking for corrections they get deleted. did some of them break the rules? i'm sure some did. but i'm also sure more then 1 didn't break any rules. i think the only one on record was because we made a huge fuss about it.

i've offered some ideas up with admins and other vendors/NTEC members on how we can resolve this issue so hopefully we can come to a peaceful agreement!

We do not need to accept every new Vendor just to stay afloat. We would rather screen the Vendors and make sure they offer a good product and fit with our community than accept everybody who will pay. Short of it is, we don't need the money, we can be choosy.
Not to be antagonistic, but IB derives its money from two sources, internet advertising and data sold the manufacturers. Since INET is a publicly traded company, this is public knowledge. Almost 70% of INETs revenues are coming from online advertising (as of last quarter -- this quarter's 10Q will be a very interesting read).

The simple fact is that internet advertising is a very up and down (and a LOT down these days) business. To say that IB is turning away business is laughable. Sure there are likely vendors that don't qualify and you're turning them down, but there likely isn't a 20 deep queue of vendors waiting in the eves.

I've been in the internet marketing business long enough to see the VERY high and the very very very lows. EvoM and the other IB brands have a strong foothold into high value/high traffic niche market websites. While that's worth "something," quantifying that "something" is hard to do. Shareholders don't care about millions of impressions or posts. They care about profitability. IB is profitable by placing ads and taking payments from sponsors and vendors.

when did all of this crap go down? i've read the last two pages and i'm pissed. this merge has caused more problems than it solved.

Andrew as far as mods owning the cars. I LIVE with a mod. Not this forum but he doesn't own a single car from that manufacture. Living with a mod does give me some insight on what all goes on. however NTEC taking over the south forum is a load of bs.

By posting NTEC , in the titles we simply were keeping the north texas related threads easier to read and distinguishable away from the other people say in Louisiana or kansas. Its the same as posting a state in the title like "texas owners" instead it's NTEC owners... this mega thread is pointless and confusing thanks for helping us out i guess..
