Success! It was an great turnout and lots of fun! It was awesome seeing the old guys and meeting a whole bunch of new guys (and gals ). At one point when I counted we had 25 DSM's, EVO's, and a 3000GT VR4. Plus there were more cars the came late or left early. I'd say we had a good 50+ people there.

I'd like to think every one for making it out there! We had a few guys that traveled great distances including Tony who drove straight there from a trip to San Antonio and Jim who was on R&R from his deployment in the Middle East.

I also finally got to meet the guy with the black Evo that lives in my neighborhood and keep confusing my wife (where were you going? I just saw you drive by!). Apparently he's had the same issue with his girlfriend seeing my car, (why was your car parked at this other house, I saw it there!) LOL! (By the way I don't know how they get us mixed up because his is way cleaner then mine )

Here are a few pics that Ray Luna took. I was too busy mingling and trying to grill to even think about snapping pics. If anyone else has pictures please post them!

Nobody in el paso can tune well enough that i would trust them... Speed factory is sadly the most reliable evo shop in town and they have ****ed up my car everytime they touch it. The owner rich walker is an instructor at my school and he's a dick thru and thru. Luckily i wont have him as a teacher or i'd probably fight him. Most everyone will only tune aem anyway. Contact english racing and have aaron hook you up with an email flash. He is a tuning genious. There was a small shop up by you i heard can tune evo', in rio rancho i believe. Most of my friends fly in clark turner to tune their cars. But he just left a few weeks ago and as you might imagine he is expensive

I'm looking for a clean set of Evo 8 headlights if anyone has a set for sale. Just the OEM, non HID ones. Let me know if anyone has a spare set. Also still looking for an 8 or 9 front bumper in black.

speed factory has always had a bad rep in el paso. they used to be protech performance, but that shops rep was so bad they had no choice but to rename it and move. i think speed factory still has a big ptp on their front window.

rich was always a bastard too. im amazed anyone would hire him to teach people about cars, i wouldnt trust his little *** plugging in headphones on an ipod. hes a big **** talker too. one day someone is going to beat his ***. his parents have the money to front him a shop but they dont have enough to protect him. i cant believe they are still open.

10 years ago they ripped off a guy named richie t with a dodge stealth. they built a motor for him which blew a rod out of the oil pan, they sold him a hks exhaust which turned out to be the factory exhaust with hks tips, totally ripped the guy off. tried to punk him when he brought it up.

one day they are going to **** off the wrong person and they are going to get their ho card pulled

but i agree, i wouldnt trust ANYONE with tuning my evo over there. theres a reason why the junkyards are full of sport compact cars and their motors

best thing to do is head out to arizona or another place in texas. im amazed anyone can keep their evo from being stolen long enough to try to get it tuned.

I just wanted to remind you guys about autox. We had an event this past weekend and it was a great success. We had a great turnout, well over 20 cars.

Our next event is a 2 day event, Saturday and Sunday, October 20th and 21st. Each day is treated as its own event for points but in addition we have a "SOLO Shootout" where the 10 fastest cars over both days are paired up (1 with 10, 2 with 9, etc) and get one final run for a combined time. The team with the lowest combinded time takes the win!

This is a great time to come out and give autox a shot on either one or both of the days. We usually have more people at our two day events because it brings in some out of town competitors. The season is almost over, i hope to see you there!
