Bumping this one myself
Hate to beat the horse and such, but I'm in some dire need of assistance. I'm in BNCOC here at Gordon until Mid-January and my car needs a hefty case of act right. I will try to explain the problem but my technical expertise isn't that much for cars. In/around 1.0 Bar on the stock JDM boost gauge the car begins to shake pretty fierce and there is an obvious lack of performance, however if I hammer (per say) on it, I can somewhat bypass that nonsense but it's not garunteed. Every so often I recieve a popping sound when at various speeds/RPM's but again I've heard it could be a governer thing, fuel dork up, or 02 sensor dork up, I've asked around and been told it's anything from a possible:
1) Boost Leak.
2) Blown Head Gasket.
3) O2 sensor(s) that may need to be replaced.
I had the clutch replaced about five months ago b/c when I came back from deployment I found out the space-cadets at the DFW POV Storage lot burned out my stock clutch (over 400 extra, unexplained miles then what I originally turned it in with, and I got stuck with the 2800 dollar bill). It currently has a kevlar clutch in there now. Other than that I have an AEM intake, and a HKS SSQV (stockparts are in the trunk in a box). Can anyone recommend a "reputable," shop in town? I tried the dealership but they pretty much told me it was a gamble (one I'd probaly lose) to bring it in. Basically it's the dreaded "you modified it, so we charge you through the nose to do the same thing pep boys does with their car-computer," gimmick and I'd be looking at roughly $500(+) should I be found at fault, just for the diagnostic. Any/all help would be very much appreciated as come January I'll be driving this baby back to Fort Bliss (26+ hours of straight driving) and the local shops there aren't that good.

No one I trust with my car then another owner (well family, but my wife can't drive 6-speed for much lol). I'm just starting at BNCOC and heavily engaged with Cisco Routers (mind-**** b/c I've never dealt with it). I'm free on the weekends just give me a time/place and I'll be there. I really appreciate any help or advice you can give me, thanks again.

1) Kevlar Clutch (brain fart, can't remember what company specifically) replacement for stock
2) AEM Intake (open-ended I believe facing down)
3) HKS SSQV BOV (Vent To Air Type)
4) Full underbody lighting kit
5) Viper Alarm System (currently disengaged, did that before I got deployed so it wouldn't lock the car down when the battery died, etc.)
Thats all I have the car. I've read pro's/con's to the BOV, it's pretty halfed and halfed, either its not good for the car, or it doesn't matter. I love the sound but alittle more concerned about the life of the car now more then just when I first bought the car and thought "Damn, thats sounds bad ***!." I'll probaly put the stock divertor valve back on it later on, but I'll still miss that sound when it blows off lol.

Fellas, a friend of mine owns the Aroma Cafe in Surri Center. SHE has wine tasting events occassionally. Would you all be interested in a meet there. The cafe is all the way in the back. Theres a decent lot there.
well i can make it if i'm not down.. I got a lot of things going on very very soon. car will be down for a month at least.
I looked at kratzners car about 2 weeks ago. We got his atmospheric BOV taken off, and a XI MR back on. Still bucking pretty bad at 14 lbs. I found out the vacum line that goes to the bottom of the intake had follen off. I put it back on, and nothing. I plugged it, and it is fine, at least only to about 8lbs of boost. He had a Cylinder #3 misfire, as well as another code.
anyone down for a meet this weekend? I am dying for some evo company. I am in BNCOC too. Here till 25 Feb. Let me know.
