TB was spared. There was report if Charley hit TB. It woyld have gained enough strength of a Cat 5 'cane, and there is no way DT Tampa can get hammered at that monstrosity. St Pete would have been wiped out like Andrew did to SE FL.

When 145-150 mph hit the area near Ft Myers, imagine gaining strength +70 mile of distance before reaching landfall of Tampa. 160-175 mph winds or a bit more?? I count my blessing that I only experienced a Cat 3 in Hurricane Elena as a kid nearly two decades ago.

Yup...if Charley had hit TB at Cat 4 or 5, the storm surge would have inundated everything from the shore to I-275...that's Downtown Tampa, Ybor, MacDill, etc. all under water...it would have been a disaster of Biblical proportions even before you factored in the wind damage...a minimum $50-60 billion price tag in TB alone. It would have been an economic catastrophe for the state as well...all those businesses and jobs wiped out in mere minutes.

Folks...we dodged a HUGE bullet last Friday...let's hope it's a long, long time before we see something like that again...

Looks like we will get a better idea on France's track by the end of the week. A group of us just came back from volunteer help in the Wauchula area. We really don't need another hurricane right now

Not west chase area but just south of brandon (Riverview) I am trying to learn this thing to but we are tuning the fuel A/F blind unitl I get the TXS Tuner kit. You can play with the boost map, and fuel map. I wouldnt touch the timing map as I am sure it was already optimized by TXS. If we mess with the boost, then we mess with the fuel. If I have a wide band o2, I would be more comforatble with making changes. I can install it, That was simple.

Glad to see everyone is alright. We had tons of water in the backyard and a few people I know were evac'd out in zerphyrhills area. Some of them did get flood damage and whatnot. Meadow Pointe [neighborhood I'm in] was without power for a little. I had no power for about 40 hours. Didn't have a generator at the time. But, everythings cool here and hopefully we just make it through hurricane season w/o a ton more damage. Just keep a very close eye on Ivan. Even though it's heading way to the south they say it could catch somewhere around the gulf and pull it north - northeast which it throw it in the TB area. Be cool guys.
Later.
