What is slamfest this weekend, I haven't been to a car event since the DynoFlash meet. Too much work

 

do u mean when is slamfest, it is oct 2 and 3rd....what is slamfest it is a big *** car show....giving u both answers anyways.... im hoping to get my ride inside this year....im glad to see mor lancers / evos going to these events...maybe we can get our own class for once


dvlgrl....i know u want to be there but wont...its cool, plenty of more events coming up in fact there is a car show in pinellas side on 10/30...will give more details later but mark down your calenders

Well, one of my group fell out. A few of you have met Bobby (Silver 350Z) at shows with me. Three weeks ago he picked up his new 350, traded the auto for a stick. He drove the car for about 1 1/2 weeks and then gave it back to Nissan. Last night after anotur 1 1/2 weeks he got his car back, with the new Greddy twin-turbo kit installed. I went for a ride, this car is amazing. It made the EVO seem like a Yugo, yes that fast. Well here's why he's not comming to the show:
After having the car back 6 hours and only having 1500 miles on it the stupid 20 year old in him took over. I just returned from Nissan and my buddy Logan (Mechanic who does all my work) showed me the peises rods pistons and various other chunks of metal in the oil pan. I really feel sorry for him, because he is in general a pretty good kid. But, we did tell him to baby the car for about 3000 more miles. We checked his guages when he came back the EGT was pat the alarm point, boost also peaked at about 10 PSI. The most he can hope for is that the block is OK. Oh, to be young and stupid again.

Saddest part was the car was hot as hell and probably would have won something at Slamfest. He had a full body kit, 18" rims, great stereo, vertical doors.

Well see you all there! Looking forward to getting out of here for a few days. Feel free to park with us if any of you are going, we got a 12x12 to sit under to keep out of the sun this year.

Seen your cars today looked great yellow lancer in side cool.

 

Lost power on sunday at 8 AM and didn't get it back until Wed after 7 PM.

As for school, I thought the county will take it out of spring break or something along the holiday (not saying going to school on christmas or anything).

 

Well, I though Slamfest was a bust this year. The number of cars that showed up was pretty low compaired to last year. As for the import tuners, I won't waste my time showing there next year. Not that I expected to win something, but I did expect more than 4 trophies to be given out in the import car classes. As for import sedans (4 door) they gave 1 trophy in this class. No burn-out contest this year. They even had a hard time looking for girls for the bikini contest. My whole group was very dissapointed. Unless there are major changes, none of us plan on going next year.

I have to agree with ttisco...no categories for any Tuners but mild, wild, and conservative which means all the honda, mitsubishi, toyota, nissan, etc are against each othe....me being that i have been loyal to this car show i was really disappointed...im glad my sponsor paid for the show and not me....

Well next weekend is Drag Warz....hopefully this will be a better turn out and a funner event to go to since i wont be dealing with a wedding

Let me know if anyone wants to meet up for Drag Warz...I will have a big tent for this one b/c it will be hot!!

 

vletnguyen, were you the one out at the track [bradenton] this past thursday with the silver evo and what appeared to be HKS Titanium Catback..?

If so very very clean car my friend. Had a nice sound up an down the track.

Awesome. Damn, what kind of times were you putting down? I never heard the guy say and the boards weren't displaying times. That exhaust looked very clean on there. I was thinking about flagging you down after some of your runs but you were cruising along and didnt want to bother you being I dont know you in the first place. Lol. How quick was that green crx you ran against? He seemed like he was moving along pretty nicely. Yeah, saw that Red G35 Sedan, Prelude and I believe Silver 350z. But that G35 was damn quick. 4 door auto and still pushing some crazy times.

 

I'll be hitting up Drag Warz this weekend with my boy. This will be my first time taking the Ralliart to the Track. But its stock I only have a Arospeed Muffler on it, still waiting on my Injen intake which ive been jerked around on. I was shipped the wrong intake for a 2.0 Lancer so it's been over a month waiting for them to ship me the correct intake. I plan on participating in the Bracket Racing, its been a while since i went out to bradenton so i figure ill enjoy myself out there this weekend.
