Ok gentleman. I tried to represent us Tampa Lancer's well last night. I went out to Sunshine Speedway and ran my car 10 times. Since it was out in the boonies, it was mostly against some domestics but I did burn or keep up with some nicely modded cars.

The times are as follows:

1) RT=1.323 = 13.376 / 61.34 2) RT = .810 = 11.607 / 63.33 3) 1.299 = 11.339 / 61.13 4) .633 = 11.194 / 63.50 5) .583 = 11.355 / 62.34 6) .663 = 10.951 / 64.17 7) .434 = 11.000 / 64.49 8) .891 = 11.639 / 61.64 9) no slip 10) .599 = 11.363 / 61.46

As you can see, since I never ran my car before, on my first run I was on the starting line for 3 seconds just spinning my tires.. hehehehe.. However on my best time @ 10.951 I got beat by a 2003 V6 Tiburon w/intake and dual exhaust by .0878 of a second. Our Lancer's have alot of potential. I know I'm not the best driver in the world and I had alot of miss shifts here and there but I was impressed. Can't wait to see what I run on the quarter mile. I'd like to see someone elses times to compare or if anyone has any pointers I would appreciate.

Sorry so long!

Hey thanks guys. I think this would be a good time to get some new plugs. NGK's or something like that. I will try the Spark Plugs first then reseting the ECU

Very true, Spark plugs could just be misfiring due to use, age. Try it out, if it fails then follow david's procedure. Hope it all works out.

usually you can hear and feel misfire from plugs.

looks like you have finally gotten the R/T down . . . the 7th was a redlight.

three things that stick out.
1) what was your 60 foot times? it tells you whether you're slipping or ineffective power to the ground.

2) what was your shift pts

3) I do believe you're running 15's, right. Are you using stock tires?

All three has an effect on spd and ETA

1) Ok. Yes to both slipping and power to the ground.. I'm failing on both but the 60 foot times are as follows.. 1] 3.432 2] 2.926 3] 2.587 4] 2.630 5] 2.622 6] 2.508 7] 2.567 8] 2.554 9] no slip 10] 2.767 at least i'm consistent

2) Shift pts? Hmm good question.. I was concentrating more on RPMS and sound. Adrenaline got to me and everything else was ignored. I'll definately look next time. But my better times were the ones where I did not take it to it's full RPM and shifted earlier.

3) Yes, I am still running on the 15's. As soon as I get my next pay day, I'll go out and invest in some Z rated tires that should grip alot better.

So what do you think bahamut?

you can take off your heat shield if you want its not going to do much but let a little more heat under your hood no real reason to remove unless your changing your header
