How about AWD Motorsports... I swear that is the only shop I would trust with the evo here in FL, and I haven't even been to their shop!!! Yes it is a 5 hour drive, so what, i would rather drive 5 hours to have a great shop do the work flawlessly, than drive 30 minutes across town or 2 hours to Orlando, and have someone completely render my car useless by ****ing the service up.
Its your car, do as you please...

TTP did my clutch install and its be flawless....Never had a single issue with it whatsoever...10000 miles on it so far..No probs..I dont know about an evo 10 though..I only paid 550 for my clutch install....So, i guess everyone has their opinions on which shop is better, etc??Justin

seems like everything is more expensive with the X. anyways, i get my car tomorrow. i ****ed up by not putting my wheel lock key back in the car. so i had to find a ride back to the other side of town. here's what got me today. when i went back to give them the key, the guy at the service desk mentioned i should get my tires rotated because the front ones seems more worn then the back ones. in my head i'm thinking, (since they have to take the tires off anyways......) so i asked, "would you guys charge extra for that?". he say's "yeah, it's $14.99". i laughed and said, "nevermind, i'll do that when i take it home."

Well first off...Subaru will do a fine job. Second...there is no way in hell I would EVER drive 5 hours to get any work done. What happens if, god forbid, something goes wrong...then what? No shop is 'perfect'. Doesn't make any sense to me. Not to mention the time and gas money wasted.

question since I've never encountered this before. if i got quoted for a certain price, and it takes them longer than expected, am i going to get charged more for the job? didn't think about that till now and their service department is closed. now i was told tomorrow morning it should be done
They will charge you for however long it took. So if they quoted 6 hours and it took 7 im almost certain they will say well something came up and it took us 7 hours. maybe they will work with you and split it but i wouldnt expect it.
People have their opinions, and that is the way it is... I haven't said any thing to degrade any particular shop. I used to drive 5 hours to English Racing for service on my car (Clutch and 60000 service), why 5 hours you ask? Their reputation precedes them, and their customer service is awesome. I still talk with Aaron (John Bradley) quite often.
Now look at most of the shops mentioned in this thread... How many of these shops are 1. vendors on the board 2. actually have cars in their stable with proof in the pudding and hold records for doing great things 3. If you are scared to drive you car 5 hours, for fear something else might break, then that completely backs up my statement. I drove my car from Washington state, to Florida a week after 60000 mile service, an FP Red self install and base tune. Christ some of you people are completely clueless... but once again... your car your choice...
