Saw an EB or BBY northbound on Capital this morning. Couldn't tell for sure the color...traffic was thick and it wasn't very light out with the clouds.

If you are asking about BJ from ToxicFab I think they decided not to renew their dealer account on this forum. They are on their facebook all the time though

I'm back! I had my personal account disabled for a day due to a mod that has a real hard-on for me. It was in regards to for sale threads I had posted, in which I wasn't breaking any rules. I guess the mod didn't like my attitude in my PM replies to him...

True, vendor fees are this forum are getting ridiculous, especially for a very small business like ToxicFab. Between the website & Facebook advertising on here isn't needed.

Hey everybody -

This might be my first post! Just wanted to say hi to triangle area people, I just moved to NC and got a 2011 X GSR in late december of 2012. 20k miles on it, bone stock minus nav that I put in. Looking forward to meeting people in RTP!

welcome! be sure to keep an eye on this thread and the local cacalac's thread in evoxforums (if your on it) for meets and event info. With the weather getting nicer every week things should start picking up a bit get-together wise.

Hey I need some advice from locals here who have been through getting a ticket here.

I was going to pick up my wife from job in her STi and this douche would let me over after we made a left on to her road. I accelerated to get past him and noticed a morrisville police officer waiting to turn right going the opposite direction.

After i got in front of the jeep that wouldn't let me in I turned right again and then turned into my wife's parking lot.

The jeep that wouldn't let me in turned with so I instantly think a fights about to go down. So I park in a spot and watch the jeep. He slowly creeps by while on his cell and just circles me and then leaves the lot. At that exact same moment I notice the police officer behind me.

So I think instantly there is no way he clocked me. He wasn't ready to catch a speeder while he was going about his business. Then I think about the fact that the jeep followed me and slowly left the lot and the police officer never tried to stop him......it seems so suspect but why would they waste time to set me up for a ticket.

Anyway I finally looked at the ticket today and 2 things stand out to me:

1) The police officer didn't write down how he measured my speed. Just that he "observed" me doing 58 in a 35 zone (I believe the exact verbiage was that he had probable cause to believe that I was speeding).

2) The car on the ticket isn't the car I was driving. I own a 2006 Mitsubishi. Its at the shop in Fayetteville. I was driving my wife's STi.

So to recap I got a ticket for speeding even though the officer never clocked me and he wrote the ticket for the wrong vehicle.

The traffic court system is different here so do I just need to go to the court house and speak with the DA? Do I have enough to get it thrown out?

^^You should have asked him to see the "radar gun". If he didn't actually radar you, I see the ticket being dropped to the minimum, points wise & fine.

I'm kinda confused by the 2nd part. So he actually wrote on the ticket 2006 Mitsubishi, even though you were driving your wife's STi? How the hell did that happen? How/why did he even know that you have a 2006 Mitsu?

If he didn't use a radar gun & since the vehicle isn't correct on the ticket, it may just get dropped...don't quote me on that though.

I gave him my insurance card (an expired one at that) because thats all we had. Lost the wife's registration card and he picked the old Evo I had on there (That clearly says its BLUE) instead of the right car. He has it listed as a 2-4 door sedan instead of a 5 door wagon/hatchback.

I once received a parking ticket while driving a 2-door accord and the ticket listed a 4 door instead. I wrote the district court a letter asking how they could trust an officer that doesn’t pay enough attention to details to the type of vehicle he’s ticketing, then they wrote me back saying they dismissed the ticket. So that’s an option.

most cops use lidar these days but I would definitely call him out on that. did you try to tell him about the jeep situation?, not that he would believe you. did you audio or video any of the conversation with the cop?, because it may help your cause when your in court.

I was honestly so mad when I hopped out of the car he was telling to get back in it but I didn't pay attention because my wife has a bad ankle and I was concentrating on that.

I've asked to see the radar before when I lived in Atlanta and the cop told me no. It made no difference in court.

So I can write the court instead of showing up and speaking to someone?

Smurf, if you can't get it disposed of initially through talking with the courts, you should still be able to use a Prayer for Judgement (PJC). This will dispose of the ticket and put you on a "probationary" period. You can check with the courts for more info.

Worst case scenario, $300 and an attorney make it all "go away" (at least it did for me a few years ago).

Good luck!

Ha ha, good to have you back. You're a pretty easy-going guy, so this dude must've been PMSing or something...
