FYI for anyone interested, five of us are going to the Dragon from 4/4 to 4/7. We booked cabins at Fontana Village. Cabins are still available and reasonably priced, especially if you split it with someone!
Stoked about this trip. Can't wait to get back to where the evo shines!
Ive only owned an evo for about 6 months and from what I've researched force fed is pretty much the only place to go in the triangle area. Im gathering parts now for a trip there, 2hrs from Hillsborough. Still trying to figure out if I should install then go or have them do it. Unsure if it would be a safe trip with everything on.
Hate to hijack the topic but does anyone know a good triangle paint shop, clearcoat is pealing on the roof from previous owner, got a decent deal because of it though.
Just thought, had this car since May and I havent posted it up in this thread yet. Just got the Kojins 3 weeks ago and put on the ultimate racing catback with the rolled titanium tips last week.
Welcome! Great to see a new owner around here. Hope you're enjoying the Evo.
If you're just putting on bolt-ons, then it's probably fine to install yourself and take it easy on the way down there. Just stay out of the throttle and limit boost. Are you on the schedule for Slowpoke Tuning next month?
I've been in the Triangle area for 11 years now and I still don't have a good recommendation for paint. I actually asked Justin about that the last time I was down there and he mentioned a couple of names to me. If you end up down at Force Fed, ask them about paint and they may be able to point you in a right direction. It's hard to find shops that want to do non-insurance work.
Yea thats the plan keep it under 350 for the sst until it's time for the new clutch packs. I hate I cant go down there for that but I buy one or so parts a month. Got the catback and the aem pannel, but got to get upper/lower piping, the aem sri (unless the pannel is good enough), test pipe, gauges and the ecbs. I have heard of a place called commercial refinishers in durham, they do big rigs and looks like from their website custom car paint as well. Im going to stop by there when the weather gets warmer and see if they will do it.
I can probably make it out on Saturday. I recently broke my phone so I don't have a copy of my work schedule on me. If I have to work, i'll just end up needing to leave a little early to get back home for work.
Nice. If you end up going, let me know and I can meet you somewhere before heading over there. I'll be coming from the Fuquay area.
Same, I'm on the edge of holly springs / fuquay off 55. Idk what part you're coming from, but if you are taking 55, we can meet either at my place or somewhere down the road.

I live off of Old Stage Rd south of Hwy 42 (east of Fuquay). Normally heading to Morrisville I'll take some back roads over to Cary and then pick up I40. Are you anywhere near that Sheetz on 401 at Banks Rd?
