I also live in Madison, AL. I got a black EVO 8. You guys may have seen me around. I think there is another guy who has an black EVO, but I think it's a 9.

 

Do you have an MR? I could have sworn I've seen you at some point. It was months ago, out near Static X in Madison...

Anyone here with a apex silver hood looking to trade for a seibon carbon fiber hood?

 

What's that place like? Are they any good?

 

DO NOT GO TO STATIC X, they are garbage. They lost their good mechanics years ago. Plus I think they lost the only all-while drive dyno in the area. If you leave your car with them, expect it malfunctioning when it is returned to you. I have a black EVO 8 GSR. I do pass by StaticX every morning to work, but I will not stop by there anymore.

 

ya. i rememer talking to one of the guys there a long while back.. completed turned me off on ever using there services.. couldnt complete one sentence without saying 'im not sure'..
asking simple mechanical and tuning questions, and i get dumb answers, ill never use them.

 

Yeah their AWD Dyno is gone...

 

I hear tell speedsouth has an awd mustang dyno.

 

Like to take a look at your vehicle sometime.

Maybe share some info. I am new to the area and really want to find a reputible person to complete work on my car.

Yeah Static X sold their dyno. Their tuner left some years ago and started his own shop. Wouldn't go there either but I'm not naming any names here.

When I talked to Static X very briefly all they told me they basically do for Evo's VIII-X are the AMS Performance Packages. Not much else. And that's the extent of my experience with them.

 

Huh. Okay good to know. But I see they are a Volk distributor so when it comes time for me to get them I might give them a visit. Hopefully they can at least mount and balance a set of wheels.

 

Do you guys have regular meets?

 

I can't say for sure but I don't really know of any in Huntsville. Maybe we can get something going soon though!

My car will run again, eventually, after the clutch isn't dust hah!

 

Im in the montgomery/auburn area. I dunno about driving to huntsville but Im ok for a bham area meet.
