nice! car doing alright?
I skipped out on cars this weekend and worked on the house a bit, as a result, my legs are ****ing killing me (surprised its not my back, usually my fatness results in lower back pain)

the joys of 1600lbs of rock. almost done with the deck/pool area.

I have been MIA for a few weeks now. Sorry to have missed a few of your phone calls as I have been down in Alex city (Terrible cell phone service) finishing up the remodel on Linda's house. Her House finally on the market, now we just need someone to buy it.
I should have stayed down there last night. As I was driving home on State Rd. 22 several deer jumped out in front of me so I took it a bit slower and more cautious however; at about 9pm a big deer jumped out from the left and I swerved to miss him but ended up hitting a trash can. Everything happened so quickly, right afterwards my oil light came on and I shut it down. After pulling over I saw where my oil filter had a huge hole in it. Oil and food/trash were everywhere. The damage was done however, the front bumper took a major hit, the hood had large dents, as well as the passenger side front fender. The black roof moulding was torn off, as well as the oil cooler shroud, lower grill, and undertray were no-where to be found. The Intercooler, Oil Cooler and lower IC pipe had major dents. Passenger fender liner was also missing, along with several deep scratches on roof, windshield, headlight, both front and rear passenger doors, as well as the side skirt also on that side. I was worried there might be engine damage due to oil starvation but today I changed out the oil filter, added some oil and drove her around with no problems. Now for the damage, took the Evo to Oak Mnt Body for an estimate...$11,000 +...$7750 in parts and $4000 in labor. Hopefully the esitmator is correct in that it is not a total-out. Just to show you guys how expensive some of the parts on our cars are. $1300 for new headlight, $1200 for hood. After this all gets fixed the Evo will be parked and become a weekend only car. I definitely need a beater/daily.
I was fortunate that the damage was not worse, or that I was hurt. Watch out for those 4 legged large rats out there. It seems they are running rampant everywhere. A passer-by/Local last night told me he has lived on that road his whole life and that during the winter months an average of 2-3 deer are hit everynight.
Even after I had the close run-ins early in the night and trying my best to be cautious and slow down below the speed limit 55mph I still had this happen. Everyone be very careful out there......

damn dude, hate to hear that. hopefully the car isn't totaled.. if its an 06 it probably won't be since you're 'only' looking at ~ 55-60% of the value of the car getting beat up..
It's amazing how these different parts add up so quickly. I had feared it would be close to a total loss, but I should be ok. I think the estimator said it is at 65% and I think State Farm uses the 80% level. No structural damage just body panels add up to $11,000 ? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that OEM parts are almost double the cost of Quality aftermarket parts. OEM Intercooler at $865.00 when the best aftermarket is cheaper or equal to that price. Hitting a deer is considered comprehensive and I was told it wont effect insurance, whether this is true is another story. I should know more come sometime by Friday when the Insurance adjuster is scheduled to come look at it. Either way I am in the market for a daily..maybe a crx/civic...lol... but finding a decent daily that has some appeal might be hard on my budget.
Damn those 4 legged Rats......!.......Should be Open Season on them all year long, well it is I guess if you hit one on the road...expensive deer though. I'm glad you weren't hurt. We are both very fortunate in-deed.
