short block and transmission are back in the volvo, had to order valve train components (jeez thats familiar), and I've been putting off doing the cams in the evo. not sure why, just haven't really been feelin' it. its slow, badly needs a retune, but eh, can't seem to work up the initiative to deal with it. I might do some map cleanup work this evening, I've gotta run up to prattville to look at an old customer's wireless network, 40 minutes of driving for about 10 minutes of work.

ugh. i think a fair amount of alcohol, grill, and pool will be on order this weekend.

Might still be able to get the camz in this weekend, kinda depends on what who where why and how. I'm supposed to go help a buddy beat his 850 down the track later this evening. oh well, such is life eh?

I got the wheel welded, turned out better than before balance wise. Going to run around on it for a few days before I take the time to try and paint match things. My valve spring compressor should be here today, so the volvo ought to be getting close to moveable by the end of the week. might crank it up with a pump in a bucket sitting next to the car (no fire hazzards, right? :-P ).

I can't wait. i'm going to have so much free bench space when that damn thing is back together...

I'm keepin the machine shop downtown in business here lately with the volvo.. found a cracked valve guide when I went to assemble the head two nights ago & had to overnight a new guide from somewhere up north.

Hopefully they'll get it done some time this afternoon.

 

If its the evo i think your talking about hes name is Victor its a pretty fast evo last i heard around 400whp but like i said im only like 80% sure it was him.

 

Victor's is an Evo 7. Unless he's gotten a CF hood recently I doubt it's him. It's been up for sale forever but I dunno if he's ever gotten serious about selling it.
