Hmm, I might have to try that. Thanks Ben. My 5th gear syncro is f*cked, but until I save up the cash for a rebuild and the 4.11 final drive I'll have to live with it grinding every so often.

Is it the same Redline people put in their trannies straight up or are you using another weight?

Shep recommends the Redline Lightweight Shockproof for his trans. Some people do the 2 qts MT90 and 1 qt Lightweight Shockproof. I did this formula for the first fill in my tranny and am now doing it with 2 qts of Amsoil instead of MT90. Feels smoother to me because unlike the posts where people say the Shep trans shifts like butter I would have to disagree.

^Good info. I'll have to figure out what works best for me. I ran a guy 3 different times in his FBody the other day. 2 of the 3 I missed gears (and lost) because of how notchy and hard it got when it heated up (the one race I banged through my gears I had him by about 3 cars. But he's still saying he killed me. ) so I want to get this figured out so I can rematch him.

This is true. According to Ben, my stock trans, that I beat on on a regular basis, shifts smoother then his.
