I was wondering if anyone has purchased E85 from the Newport Mini Mart in Newport? It's the closest E85 station near Jacksonville.

I was thinking about getting the map switching switch and getting a 93 OCT tune and a E85 tune. But only if the mini mart actually sells E85.

I used to be stationed at Camp Lejeune than moved to Cherry Point. I like Lejeune a lot better than Cherry Point.

He's likes the outdoors alot and found a nice place in the country up in Cherry Point area that he could go tearing around on his ATV's. Different strokes for different folks I guess. I never been to Lejeune so I wouldn't have a clue....

Just wanted to say Happy Memorial Day to all our troops out there and for those who have fallen, you will not be forgotten. God bless their families.

Lemme know when you're going because we have to make a trip there at least 2 more times in the near future (once for picking up my buddies engine, then returning with the STi to get tuned). It's such a boring drive.

It's funny looking at pics of your car and seeing your neighborhood. Looks pretty much exactly like our neighborhood (although I think our driveways are longer). Too many of these identical neighborhoods here!! Well it's better than living in the ghetto i suppose!

Hey ch53avitech you still have that steel ball?? I haven't gotten anything from Hallman yet. I know they are in no rush to send anything for free. I'll even give you a few bucks for it if you would like.

just posted in the NE section should have looked in the SE section i guess lol.

It is highly likely that i am going to be coming to Cherry Point in October and I am going to be picking up a WW evo. I am looking to get in with an existing club or create a new one.

I would be looking to have monthly meets and every few months maybe throw a charity event i.e. BBQ/car show or something.

Anyone interested?

was about to ask if the picture of your lowering springs was taken at the Point, but i guess from this post it was?

I should be there in a few months and I am going to pick up a WW GSR with SSS and aero package. Where did you get your X, Jacksonville? I have a quote request in with them right now, told them I would pay 33g's cash, so I will see what their response is.

The picture wasnt taking on Cherry Point, but Im stationed there. What unit you with on Japan and what unit you coming to on Cherry Point. I was stationed at CAB on Okinawa for 2 years.

There is a couple car clubs around but IMO none of them are worth joining. I know the guys from Jacksonville get together but thats an hour drive for me. I would be interested in meeting up and all that if we can get enough people to show up. I know of 2 other guys with Evos in the area and I seen a couple more but never had time to talk to them.

I got my X in PA, where Im from, because the Jacksonville dealership wanted almost $3000 more for the same exact car and told me they would let me test drive it around their lot if I was serious about buying it from them. The one back home let me test drive it even after I forgot to bring my license with me(just got home from Iraq, wasnt used to carrying it all the time).

Buying a car in Jacksonville is just a poor decision. Especially an Evo. Unless their tactics have changed they don't budge on the price much. When I bought my first Evo I got it in FL because they were completely unwilling to deal here. I got it down there for about $3k cheaper. They might be a little different now as this was years ago.

If it were me I would look into getting a used one with really low miles. It doesn't seem like the X's are holding their value too awesome so I'm betting you can pick one up for a steal. ESPECIALLY if you are paying cash!! I bought my current Evo used and enjoy it WAY more than the one I bought brand new. Knowing I'm having fun with a $20k investment rather than an almost $40k investment makes it easier for me to worry less about things breaking. Just my $0.02
