I agree with this.

"IF" is a truly large word with the Evo owners of Tampa.

IF we can get more than just ME to show up to things, then it would be fun driving down and meeting the Orlando guys in Fort Pierce, FL before continuing to head south to the rally point.

However, as things generally turn out... it makes more sense for me to link up with them there than for all of THEM to link up with ME here.

There is still PLENTY of time to work this out. This cruise is for DECEMBER, after all... by then, we would have already done the Boost For ***** event in Orlando. We can iron out the rest of the details by then, I am sure.

Speaking of events...

...I have something important to take care of on Saturday. I will be out of town and unable to make it to the TCM at S&R Performance. (This would be the day that everyone shows, other than me! LoL) I will try to make it back in time, but I highly doubt it.

Tis true there is plenty of time to do whatever but you are gonna have a hard time selling this to me personally, because B.L.U.F it's NOT efficient. If it's just you then yea do U obviously. But even if there is 10+ of us you're not going to be able to convince me to drive an hour and a half north, to drive an hour back south and then 2 more hours south to the start of a ALL DAY driving event. It just doesn't check the common sense block bra. Jus Sayin.

I understand your point man. That's why I said that we should just roll out from Tampa and meet at the first rally point. I'm not sure if that would work for everyone but I'm just sayin lol

Not sure if you guys are aware, but the Mega Cruise starts in West Palm which is about 3.5 hrs southeast of Tampa. Then the cruise will continue down the east coast to Key West which is another 4.5 hr drive

Shon... ten plus... really? I wouldnt have even suggested meeting up with the Orlando crew if I even REMOTELY thought that we could get ten plus Evos from Tampa. Out of all the car shows and events that happen around Tampa, I would be lucky not to be the ONLY Evo there.

Normally, it is just me... and Howie when he has time. Alex and James have shown up to a few, as well.

The last time ten Evos got together was at the S&R BBQ... and before that was way back in February for the i4Evo BBQ.

There is nothing that I want more than to have regular Evo meets. I still have them. Once a month. At the normal location. Not TCM. Random Evo owners show up, but get discouraged when they see that other Evo owners do not.

Ricky, I can't wait to do something BIG. That is why I want to go to this Mega Cruise in December. I love it that every time I go to Orlando, I can link up with 10 or more Evos with little or no notice. That doesn't happen here in Tampa. Plus, what better way to travel to Key West than with other Evos? I have never been. Sounds like fun. If you have an Evo, you shouldnt be afraid of a drive like this one!

August 26th Metro PCS Grand Opening

Do you guys remember Fred with the AS Evo IX? He is currently deployed to the middle east, so I thought I would remind you guys of this event he told us about before he left. He would like for us to show up in force to help kick off his Handy Wireless Store.

Here are the details...

Handy Wireless
2890 Alternate US 19
Palm Harbor, FL 34683
Crystal Beach Plaza, next to Publix

WiLD 94.1 will be onsite to give away tickets to Last Damn Show.

"That is a Friday afternoon. If you can make it, please show up. I'd love to see a crew of Evos for this event!" -- Fred

"Also, if you have some idea on what you want me to do during the grand opening let me know. We plan to engage our neighboring businesses for some freebies as well as give away some cell phone stuff." -- Fred

If not a lot of people chime in to say they are going to head to the mega meet then I'll probably just head over to Orlando with you man....Also I'm definitely down to go to the Metro PCS grand opening since I'll be off that entire weekend unless something random comes up...And I completely agree with you about evo owners not meeting up around here as much as orlando area...I think being in the military over here messes with everyones schedules and everyone cant always link up as much as they would like to...I really think that we should try hard to get some regular meets like the Orlando crew does.

We used to meet up once a month when the i4Evo Tampa was established back in November. One guy, Tomas H., had great renown in the Evo community. We had photoshoots, BBQs, and cruises. However, he didn't have the time to schedule anything. That is why him and I got along SO WELL. He had the renown, I had the time... so together, we made things happen.

Things changed once our group started growing. When Howie and James started coming out, Tomas H. changed his outlook in life. He swore off anything to do with Evos. He said, "...an Evo is just another car. Nothing more."

Once he said this, all the people who followed him stopped showing. The group has been growing in size SLOWLY since then, since I am not as well known as he was.

Our counterparts in Orlando, however, have been flourishing. My cofounder brings i4Evo Orlando together at least once or more times a week! I think you are right. The main difference there is that they don't have any military members, so they have more time to devote to extra curricular activities.

Since interest is low, I started combining the i4Evo meets with TCM. That way, we can meet every two weeks about 30 minutes prior to TCM and talk about future events or whatever comes to mind.

Now, you are up to speed... I think! LoL

Thanks for all the info man. It does suck that everyone cant get together as often as the Orlando crew but the idea to combine the meets with TCM was a GREAT idea. Hopefully people will show to the TCM's and we can start to get this community to grow and become a little more like a close group of friends rather than "some people that own the same car and hang out once in a while" lol

I don't know what to tell you fam... as cleche as the saying goes it just is what it is. I mean being a more military crew here we all got JOBS and other responsiblities be them mission, duty or family oriented that are gonna trump hangin wit the bois more often times than not. I see what your tryin to do though, because if you fail to plan... then you basically plan to fail right... epic fail in most cases! But even with this upcoming Friday jump off, most of us will be at work and after that we'll have to check wit momma to see what is really hood B. Now don't twist it, we always want to be supportive, but (IMHO) next to nobody is gonna wanna fight friday traffic coming out of south Tampa to go to this thing after they've been grindin all week bro. It's just not realistic or efficient as most of us are residing scattered to the 4 corners of Tampa. Real Talk.

And before this gets tooAlso you gotta look at the dynamic of the said "Crew" you run with today vs. your "Crew" from Da O. You sure you're not chasing ghosts B? I am curious because you are always comparing Tampa to Orlando and using the reference of the "Honda Crews" as to your contrast and comparison for the standard of what = Crew and consistency. U know what, this is a better rap for Saturday. U might show u said yea?

I might. I might not. I will be out of town on personal matters. I havent missed an event I wanted to attend since November, but this might have to be my first. I am still going to try to make it, but it seems unlikely.

As far as ghosts, I dont believe in them. I dont waste my time on people who dont want to cruise, meet, and have a good time. I have been part of military crews before. FT Stewart's AWDC and Germany's Evo-C. They both had regular meets and events. There is a group in Ft. Benning that also handles that (Cant remember their name). Therefore, I am not a dreamer or ghost chaser when I say that I believe that we can do the same here.

For anyone else reading this, please believe that I have nothing but love for all Evo owners. Just because I want to do EVERYTHING together and grow as a community doesn't mean that I hate those who scarcely want to do anything together. Everyone is different. Some like only the track. Some like only car shows. Some hate cruising. Some love to drive. We are not built the same...

...but, we share the same interest in automobile selection or we wouldnt be here on Evo-M.

We agree on one major point, I am trying to plan months in advance because we only get one shot at this. I dont want to ASSUME that people are going to make it. I want people to agree on the dates, times, and a plan.

I hope that we can come together on this one. You and I dont see eye to eye on many things, but people on this forum listen to you and respect your opinions... and so do I. I would appreciate any constructive input you have on helping to plan this December cruise. Thanks!

Tampa Car Meets
August 13th 2011 (my birthday)
Time: 8:30pm
Location: S&R Performance

Since this IS my birthday and I will be spending it ALONE because my family is out of town until next month...
I implore that you attend this event. PLEASE?
Thank you!
(PS If you want to make a small collection to finally get my car tuned, that would make an EXCELLENT birthday gift... I'm just saying....)
So Alex to make sure that I am not misunderstanding anything since I have been out of the loop without The Blue Lady; Basically you're calling the usual every other week Peabody's deal and doing it at S&R for your special day. And you may or may not be there because you have another matter to attend to? O.k Roll Call, other than Ski who else is going???
