Tampa Bay EVO check-in
OK, so talked to the wife and she is comming along. Ususlly it's like pulling teeth to get her to go. I cant leave here untill 1-1:15 and it takes me an hour to get up there if I drive the evo like it was meant to be driven(hard to do with the wife in the car). So if I don't make it till 3 will you guys still be at the mall?
More than likely, yes... Anybody that wants to go, PM me with a request for cell phone #'s for the 4/3 meet and I'll get them for you... Everybody on club3gfl is welcoming anybody else that wants to show up.
Just 3 basic rules of the group to be aware of:
We try to keep the swearing down to a minimum or none at all. We do have kids around and we try to keep it a family thing.
Be on your best behavior when in public places. It's all about image. I-mall and the various restaurants we go to have been very good with us, and we want to keep it that way.
No street racing. If you want to race, arrange for a track meetup.
Gotta lay down the law beforehand.. sorry..

Well, sorry guys. I am going to have to back out of Saturday. My wife and I rearranged both our schedules to attend only to check our son's baseball schedule and find out he has a game at 2 on Saturday. We were both really looking forward to being there. I hope everyone has a good time. Hopefully we can get to the next meet.
v8killer - Let me know if you are going to any get togethers and we will try to make it.

Anyway, PM me if you interested. Info can be found at ..

Ok, I got all the info off the web site. I will see what's up for Friday and let you know as soon as I know if I can go.
saintjab - Who told you the break in was only 500 miles. I was told that the break in was 3000. I don't know which one is actually right, but I have owned about 4 sports cars that have all ran Mobil 1 from the start. It was my impression that cars that run synthetic take longer to break in.
If anyone knows what the acctual break in is I would like to know. Not that I have to worry with 8000 on it now.

Directly from the owners manual:
For future performance and economy of your vehicle, we recommend that you carry out the following precautions.
- avoid revving the engine. Do not exceed 5,000 rpm for the first 600 miles
- avoid rough driving such as fast starts, prolonged high speed driving and rough shifting for the first 300 miles
- Avoid sudden braking for the first 300 miles
- The standard-equipment tires use a high-grip compound. Thus drive with extra care for the first 200 miles.
- Do not overload the vehicle. Observe the seating capacity
- Do not use the vehicle for trailer towing.
*** My interpretation is this is RECOMMENDED from the factory. Nothing beyond 600 miles for any part of the break-in period is stated in the owners manual.

I appreciate the information. By the time I get to Bradenton I'll have over 600. ;-)
ttiscio, my dad is actually a lifelong mechanic and tuner. I spoke with him at length about this exact subject. He tells me that we are braking in the drive train more than the actual engine. To a fair extent all engines are pre-run before shipping.
Anyway, I'm not taking his word for gospel, but I tend to believe him. He’s the most meticulous and driven mechanic I’ve ever met too; and he assures me I should be OK. Besides, he’s the one I’ll be laying some labor on if he’s wrong. ;-)
Also, if anyone wants to run, the pre-registration is full. But I was assured that a lot of people on the list will not show. So if you wanna take any runs he advised coming early.
Hope to see you there!
Thanks!

I'll see how it goes after Friday night. Since this is cool w/ wives I may be able to pull it off too. If I can get out of the track reasonably early Friday I'll see if I can convince her.
