side signal indicator removal
side signal indicator removal
anyone know how to remove the transparent cover on the side signal indicator as I would like to put some white leds there, but having trouble finding a way to get the cover off.
The Clear plastic and the bulb are one piece. Actually the Bulb is sealed inside the indicator.
But it you wish to try, Just slide the marker toward the rear of the car and you should have enough clearance to pull it out. Its secured by a compression style design so when you slide it to the rear the clip will depress and should just pop out. Then you remove the wire harness. I'll go snap a pic so you can see.
EDIT WITH PICs:

well the manual says its not meant to be taken off.. damn mitsu they want us to replace the whole piece with a new one when ours burns out... i wouldnt risk taking it off, unless your stock bulb burns out, in which case ur gonna hve to replace it anyways, then give it a try.. hahah you can put it in a toaster oven and try to bake it off or something LOL
A small toaster oven pre-heat to 200 let bake for 5-6 minutes should be safe, should being the key word, Worked with the head light anyway. but the thing is so delicate and small I wouldn't even bother nor would I recommend it, unless like three29 said unless your willing to replace it".
Price it out first
