EVO 4g63 now able to be used in RWD's.
Correct it is not new. We did the very first RWD adapter plate, flywheel, torque converter, intake manifold, turbo kit, thermostat housing, alternator relocator kit and various other parts for the 4g63 to be turned for RWD use.
We built the first RWD with my '91 Talon, then my '98 Eclipse, the Civic we built, Brent Rau used our plate in his RWD, then the Mustang we built, the 1940 Ford Pick up my brother has, our '88 Conquest and then...........you guys get the picture. Like many other things 4g63, we were first.
There were some changes we wanted to make, the EVO block is superior and I want to build a project car at some point. Just need to find a body I want to use.
We have also never offered this for use with a 5 speed. The main idea this time was to offer this for use with some bad *** 5 speeds.

More info on the Civic please?
I did that 6 years ago.

David did make the first adapter plate. Bill Hincher from Japanese Auto has made the first bellhousing for use with Toyota RWD transmissions. There has been a lot of movement in the past few years on RWD 4g63. Using the motor is another good step although there are so many good 6 cylinder motors available now for RWD swaps.

My friend has a conquest and wants to get that supra trans adapter. I just told him about this adapter plate, and he was wondering since his car is automatic if He would be able to put a gm manual transmission in his car? and he wanted for info on that 88 conquest? he already has a 92 4G63 6 bolt and is just waiting on finding a supra trans since it only accepts the w58 and r154
Question and Opinion Bump...
I was thinking about doing a Sirius II Evo 8 swap in a RWD
Mighty Max on custom mounts.
So with this RWD adapter plate what would be some good GM trans options to go for. I know plenty about Mitsubishi but jack **** about GM. Anyone played around with this and have a trans/fly wheel/clutch combo that works well with the evo motor on this adapter plate (preferably stuff off the shelf if i can help it). I'd be looking for something daily driver, 5 speed, and that can hold at most 500whp.

This adapter will work putting a 5 speed to the engine, you just need any 5 speed that uses the old small block/big block bolt pattern. Then you will need a custom clutch/flywheel/throwout bearing etc. If you want to do an automatic to get the truck built and running my brother has an auto he had built for his '40 Ford with two good spare built torque converters. The trans bolts directly to the engine and he has a flex plate for it, so it's an EASY build to get the build going and running. Then decide later if you want/need a 5 speed.
