Yeah i got a really weird buzzing sound too, but it was from my ballasts. And my lights still flickered. I hooked it up every which way possible and I still get a flicker. The instructions that come with the HID kit are absolutely horrible too.

HI,

You can install the relay per below

If you want to install relay it would

Driver side : bulbs --> ballast --> Relay --> Wire harness --> Oem connector
Passenger side: bulbs --> ballast --> Relay (NOTHING) wire harness --> Oem connector

Thanks~

A slight buzzin is normal, but if your car does NOT need a relay, it is not recommended to install one, remove it and install kit without relay to see if it operates properly. Thanks~

i just went ahead and ordered a kit for my 2010 lancer es. so i need the 9006 size kit from my research. my question is will this be for the low beam only? if so will my stock high beam still work?

i can't decide between 6000k and 8000k. from my understanding my high beams can be swapped out for a hid kit later on too right? so i was thinking maybe 6000k for the lows for now, and eventually getting 8000k for the highs, is that possible?

thanks for the help.

any side by sides of the 6000k vs 8000k? advantage of the slim ballasts is simply the slimmer size right? the regular and slim have same manufacturer build quality?

You don't need to get HID Highbeams, it would be a pointless waste of money. If your going to spend the money get yourself some fogs, cause those would actually come in handy. The 6k is pure white, serious white. The 8k has a slight blue tint to them, i suggest 6k but thats just cause my car looks so good with that setup. You will also need a relay. I believe.

thanks for the reply. you are correct, i suppose the high beams would be pointless, and be more show than anything. hehe.

hm, so i would need a relay? can someone else confirm this? maybe someone at hidextra? i would hate to receive my package and not have everything necessary to get it running out the box.

I put my lights in without the relay, they work fine as long as you keep your lights on at all times, otherwise you will get a flicker when you turn your car on, but they flicker for a bit then just go out. I bought the relay from HIDExtra to solve that like they told me, and it doesn't solve it at all, The instructions that came with it suck, and even after the instructions above where followed my lights still flickered with the relay, and now my check engine light is on after trying to install them. I suggest not listening to HIDExtra, just buy the kit from them, and find another solution for the relay and the light flicker.
