Stage 1 map in southeast US...
would anyone be nice enough to share their custom tuned stage 1 map? i want someone locted in the SE so that the variables will be close to the same. i would like to use a custom tuned map for reference to my map. if someone could send me one, that would be great. 93 octane and a race gas map would be awesome. thanks fellas.

Every car is different. A custom Stage 1 map might induce detonation in your car and pull timing. Load the default 93 octane Stage 1 until you can get to a dyno for a custom tune. Better safe than sorry!
im going to dyno4mance in january after i install the cams.
and i know they are all different, thats why i wanted someone atleast in my area....im sure their tune is a bit more suited than the nation wide 93 octane base tune. i just wanted to try some other things, thats all.

I personally have two different Stage 1 custom tuned maps, but the reason anyone would be hesitant to share is that it would be putting your car into a possibly dangerous situation. The boost, air:fuel, and especially timing values are different from car to car. Hence, I've never seen two cars that are identical in four different dyno days and countless other visits to Dyno4mance.
The smart thing to do is hold your horsies until you can get on the dyno to verify so you don't screw something up. The 93 octane base map is the only sure-fire way to do this. If you just take somebody else's map, you'll probably slow your car down because there is at least one (probably multiple) spot(s) that a det event will occur, making your car slower than the map you have. When I say the maps are different, they're usually not a little different, they're wildly different. Some cars like timing, some like more fuel pulled to get the same result, some like boost.

ok, ok. if you say so, i just don't see how the cars can be *THAT* different. plus, i would have expected any car to be tuned right on the edge. from all the charts ive seen, a fairly moderate a/f curve was tuned. but, i guess ill just have to wait till i see you guys in january. maybe we can have a evo meet or something sometime in january, so i can meet some of you fawkers.

Here's my point: One car, I took out 8% fuel in 6500rpm range to get ~11.4:1 air:fuel ratios. Another car took 17% to get the exact same 11.4:1 air:fuel. Same deal with timing. Some cars like -1.2 up top where some need -2.5+ there to get the same result. On top of that, 11.4 might be great for one car, but suck for another one, depending on the engine. So yes, we're all shooting for the same ballpark results, but the way we get there is different. This is why the base maps on some cars are insane-o, but on others they're a little conservative. When you're talking about tuning your $30,000 car, the last thing you want to make are blind adjustments that might make less power than the base maps.
