does your wastegate open at 17psi without a pill in there?
It opens at 17psi w/ the pill in and 17 psi w/ out it. I thought the boost pressure would change but it didn't.

that don't make sense. The pill should make when it opens change because the turbo is boosting more than the wastegate is seeing.

I dunno what to tell you.

It's like the boost solenoid is bleeding all the boost pressure off so I can't get above the wastegate spring.

fwiw, the presence of the pill in the wastegate line wont affect the mechanical spring pressure of the wastegate so boost will not change.

What does change, however, is the sensitivity of boost level changes with respect to the wastegate control soneoid. In other worse, the more rectricted pill you put in there, the less duty cycle will be needed to raise your boost X psi.

hope that clears things up...

Cheers,
shiv

So why can I not turn up my boost w/ the XEDE? I have the restictor in the correct location, but I have only the wastegate spring worth of boost.

My car has fixed itself and is now boosting 28psi. I have no idea what has changed besides turning my car on/off. Hopefully, my XEDE isn't playing games w/ me.

damn, thats strange

why won't a pill in the wastegate line change the boost the car runs? I thought it acted as a restrictor to let the turbo run more booost without the wastegate knowing it. I guess that would only work if the pill was on the wastegate side of the T huh?

I'm pretty sure the pill only affects the rate of change of boost pressure from one side to the other.
Eventually the pressure will equalize.

You are right, but the problem I was having was the boost solenoid was not closing so it was bleeding off all the pressure before it got to the wastegate.
