You have to use a Creader for that advanced timing to work IIRC. Do you have a Creader, and if you do, does it have a serial number in white on it?

Internet forums are usually the slow way to get technical support. I would recommend calling Vishnu if you haven't already done so.

This is not ture. I have been reflashed by Vishnu 3 times and I have never got a P0300. That includes using the V2 and V3 software.

When I was installing SMART, I left 3 messages at their shop and no one called back. That was a month ago. It's a good thing I got lucky and figured things out after 4 hours. I get technical help where I can. Shiv specifically started this thread so we could get a central Q&A. This is therefore the place they should monitor and respond.

I have not received my replacement Creader yet, so I could not try the advance map successfully. I am still confused about the threshold map ready so low on my car and I am not sure about what AFR to shoot for under 3500 rpm, no matter what load.

Jorge is helping me so I can start datalogging and looking at what is happening.

Jorge 1 and more
Shiv 0 and $$$

my 2 cents

Vishnu's online availability is primarily to push new products. Once in awhile you get some tech support out of them but I think they are very undermanded and poorly documented.

As mentioned above the best way is to call their non-one-800 phone number.

If you are having problems with SMART....zero the SMART maps and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't.....load a non-smart map. If the problem still exists pull the XEDE all together and see if it goes away.

Troubleshooting advise:
1. Reset you factory ECU by pulling the ground of the battery for 10 minutes.
2. Reflash you XEDE with a new download from VISHNU.
3. Double check your wiring harness modifications.
4. Ensure you calibrated your WB.
5. ALWAYS CHECK FOR BOOST LEAKS

Support/SMART

Thanks for the advise. My Xede has been in for close to 2 years. I have tuned my car and had it custom tuned many times since. Smart is working and my car pulls extemely well. I just wanted clarifications, advise and direction from people who have been using smart and from Vishnu as I would like to optimize things and feel confident everything is working fine without the expense of another custom tune $ 500 and some more dyno time.

has this been your experience?
thanks
It may be more trouble than it is worth to keep your Dynoflash... remember, if you do so, you can't just download maps and expect them to work. They are all based on an OE flash. You will have to custom configure everything to your flash.

As someone mentioned, not everyone has the P0300 problem. 03's seem to be most effected, and there was even a TSB fix for bone stock cars having the problem. It just seems that the Vishnu crowd has had more problems than most where this is concerned.

No, I'm not busting ***** here... I am an Xede/Smart user (well trying to be as it is smart-er than I), and am in no hurry to let go of the product.

if I am not mistaken, have I not read where if you have the dealer p0300 code fix, then vishnu cannot do the basic xede flash to remove the rev limiter?
that is all the flash that I think I need if I am to sell the dynoflash and go to xede/smart.

I am also a little leary as to downloading maps and expecting them to work as I have not followed the vishnu upgrade path and have some parts that do not seem to be what the rest of the crowd is using, but I cannot see buying all new parts just to use with the xede. my understanding is to install, use the base maps and use the innovate to finetune...

I think the XEDE has been used with just about every combo of parts out there by now. I would be surprised if you have a setup that the XEDE cannot accomodate. The baseline maps are fairly conservative, and if you're planning on getting the SMART setup, you should be able to use it to fine tune your setup by yourself.
