EVO 9 tested... whowza

We tested a totally stock EVO 9 last week. You know its cool when a totally stock 286bhp rated EVO makes 15-20 more wheel horsepower than 300bhp rated STIs...

whp and torque:

boost and afr:

Tuning to come within the week...

Cheers
shiv

PS. On our dyno, 03-04 Evo 8s make 200-205whp. 05 Evo 8s make 210-212whp. The new Evo 9 is quite the machine

just to keep things in perspective.... my car made only 204 whp on this dyno stock.. so this evo 9 is making 35 whp more than 03 evos did.. THATS HUGE.. i cant wait to see what stage 1+ will be like on the 09.

Are you telling me that a stock Evo 9 makes about 315-320hp at the crank stock?!?!

Wow that's impressive! Those HP and torque figures are very similar to that of a Stage 0+ 91 oct base XEDE map on a 03/05 Evo.

That would explain why they're running low 13s at the track-as opposed mid/high 13s with the EVO8.

Time to trade in the 8.

Any sense of how much of this power increase is attributed to the new turbo vs the mivec?
