read up on the accessport from cobb tuning and that should give you a general idea

Is this going to be married to the ecu like accessport?

Of course we'd expect to pay more for it, but to be able to tune customers cars would be awesome.
There WONT be a tuner for it.

XFlasher + Tuner = XEDE

If you want to tune and make changes to paramiter maps (boost, fuel, timing) get an XEDE

If you want to be able to change maps (pumps gas map, 100 oct map, stock map, next stage map), get Xflasher

It will probably be "married" to the ECU, just like the AP.
If they didn't do that, you could buy one and flash your whole town.

thats right. it would be nice if there was a way to get the xflash without having to send out your ecu though.

No real horsepower limit per say. The biggest limitation with the factory ECU code is that ignition timing is only tunable to +/- 1.0 degree making mapping granularity less than ideal. The Load scaling, in the stock code at least, maxes out around 23psi as well. FWIW, the most power I've ever tried to support on a reflash was right around 360whp on our DD dyno. Plenty strong. But still not the 500whp we've seen with the XEDE before (which essentially re-scales the Load axis).

How will this thing compare to like ECUTek & Techtom?
A map editor is a map editor, for the most part. Some have nicer interfaces than others. Some show things in nice pretty color 3D charts. But as far as what the user sees, they will all do the same thing. Except the XFlasher means that you don't have to visit a tuner or ship your ECU out everytime you want it remapped or revised.

Is this going to be married to the ecu like accessport?
Yes indeed.

There might not be for you.
I've been using an XEDE for three years. I know well how to tune it, but am wondering what the cost will be for a shop that supports Vishnu products. My point in this is to show the public/consumers that it will be a lot less expensive than the cost of becoming a Protuner through Cobb.

Evo_Kid, please stop replying to me, as you aren't the person I'm addressing. Thanks.

Well, stop askin if theres gonna be a tuner for the Xflasher.

Your point about showing that it's gonna be less expensive then Protuner doesn't matter. There's no Protuner for EVOs, so theres no reason to make that point.

PS david though I explained it nicely.

There is going to be a "shop tuner", but its not going to be for everyone's consumption.

As far as no Protuner for Evos, its around the corner. Click Trey Cobb's name above and search for all his posts.

I don't think the AP will have the appeal in Evoland that it does in Subieland, though, as they're a little late to the game.

Speedlimit...

TO ALL : I LOVE SHIV and am anxiously awaiting sending my IX out to Cali for him to work his magic.....

Sorry about my poorly worded post, i was not aware of all the sensitivity ... I was just being sarcastic to give Dustin a hard time for keeping the information secret. I'm actually very excited about the new product and was reacting to the teaser. In retrospect, I can see how this could be contrued as trying to start something, but I assure you it was not.

Sorry

Chris
