I'm still using the stock clutch, which is why I'm limited to 25 psi for the time being.

I'm considering that one, as well as the Tilton.

i 2nd the motion for exedy twin disk hd. I have been using it for a bit ad it works great. Much less chatter and it holds well. Or if you want the rolls royce of clutches, go for the tilton tripple carbon, but be ready for a 3k plus price tag.

sell your sti, buy an evo 9, add a stage 2 kit or any turbo upgrade with at least a 30r and you will have almost that much power for very cheap.

Ted, what is your useable powerband with the 35r on the stock block?

A little extrapolation of the power curve and calculation of optimum shift points tells me I need a 1-2 shift point around 8800rpm, and around 8500rpm for the rest. Obviously, it isn't wise to attempt that with the stock block and valvetrain (I'm limited to 7800rpm), so I'm putting together something a bit more robust.

I would be very impressed if he got full spool by 4k with a 35r.

Hmm, so will he go with a built 2.0 or something bigger? I can tell you that the 4g63 sounds pretty insane as it approaches 9K.

Then just avoid I-65 between B'ham and Decatur after 6pm.

That's remains a question at this point, but I've ruled out a long stroke motor entirely.
