Ok did a search and it really didnt show up aything. If there is a sticky someone please let m know. Justr trying to figure out wha tis tin really is and if it will be good for a 9. Is this a data logger, flasher, or standalone? Does this also take the place of the maf? Does the SMART upgrade control mivec and/or does it have more tha 2 maps?

It is a "piggyback" computer, I don't know if its ready for the 9 yet. I still have my MAF and have been using this for over 2 years, no problems.

Your the guy that calls me a Newbie. Please Please listen to Clayton and stick with his advice on Flash and upgrade path. Remember I know nothing and I am a Newbie but u come over here and ask about a piggyback thats been out for 3 years and is not available for a IX yet due to the harness not being out.

Sorry Shiv but I believe I am doing u a favor by scaring this guy away. BTW I thought u already had a highly tuned 11 sec IX. Oh I forgot it has only ran the 1/8th but it will do 11s for sure and turbobacks = 30 whp. Maybe after tuning and catless 30 whp is possible but making a blanket statement like that shows your lack of brain cells. ----Shiv if u tune this guy I will see u in the Octagon.
( Remember Kevy =Sti killer/ Evo 8 power, Azar etc) Don't set yourself up. LOL!

LOL! What would he know about Smart? Shiv should put out TARD he would be up on that system for sure. This guys first name is Corky and his last name is Gump.
I will call him Gump for now on.

Yeah, he has put his foot in his mouth more than once, but he calls me the newbie. I call him the Anti Warrtalon. Gives a ton of bad advice. Not to jump on Clayton's nutzsack but at least he is correct or close 80-90% of the time. This guy makes me sick and he always tries to brag about his car or driving skillz in a passive aggressive way in others threads. Thus, putting down other's cars or driving Skillz.

no one is using XEDE on a IX...its not out yet...when XEDE comes out for the IX everyone will know because it will be plastered all over this board and plenty others. Let the man work his magic, it will be released when Shiv is fully comfortable with the way it works on the IX's after the testing is done. Trust me it will be worth the wait

U think I called you a newb? HAHAHAHA ok

Well if you are quite the affluent person with the xede care to educate me on it?

Here is your time to shine dont blow it.

SAME goes for you IE EVO! If you aren't a newb then prove it to me. And please dont repeat what everyone else just said. Give me a detailed description of this device and how to use it. Also please tell me what it does for the map and maf.

All you have to do is click on the banner at the top of this thread and go to Shiv's web site. Then read about the Xede. You are asking very basic questions that can be easily answered if bothered to go to the website.

Yeah, you called me a newb before........

The Xede is a basic piggyback EM unit. It is attached by an Inline harness on one of the conectors to the ECU. You also have to pull a pin from another conector and replace it with one form the harness and plug the original pin into the xede harness.

The Xede for the VIII controls fuel, timing & boost. The xede for the IX will control fuel, timing, boost & MIVEC. There is table (or maps) for each controled item.
I believe table can be 20x20 but dont remeber them being that big. All adjustments are made in the tables.

The SMART system incorprates a knock buffer and a WB O2. Using another set of tables for fuel and timing correction, the xede reads the WB and knock buffer and use that data and the extra tables to make changes to the fuel and timing. SMART can also do stuff like lean protection and boost compinsation (even though i dont think they ever did).

I owned an Xede but never had SMART.

The reason there is no IX xede is because theres no harness and Shiv is still working on the MIVEC control. The IX XEDE will be very much like the VIII XEDE (you ill be able to use a VIII Xede on a IX and visa versa) and have the same table controled system.

Theres a lot more info on Xede and SMART, this is just that basics.

Well I don't remember and I could care less because I don't dwell on the past. Besides thats the past wasn't it? So basically you should not be a newb then right? Just going on the obvious here. I really dont remember our past discussion but I hope you can pardon the pun here.

However, that post was very informative and I thank you for it. The vushnu stuff is a little new to me. I have always been into the dynoflash and buschur stuff. I have heard of the device before but never really got into it until my friend told me to check it out.

Now in your humble opinion do you think the device is worth it? And are you happy with it?

Again great post I have officially been de-newbietized by you as far as the xede goes.

I like my Xede on my VIII and wanted to use it on my IX, but the harness didnt come out and there was no real ETA, so I sold it. I wanted to use the xede because I was gonna do alky injection and the xede can switch between maps with a switch and also has SMART, maily lean protection, two very nice opitions when running alky injection.
Now that I have a IX and I only plan on going with a flash and TBE, I wont be running alky, so I am now using ECUFlash aa my EM solution.
