cosworth cams
Sorry I haven't responded sooner, but I was at the 25 Hours of Thunderhill all weekend. I crewed for the factory BMW Diesel entry (click here for results), and was a little bit busy.
Works took care of the car on Thursday. They pulled the cams, installed the upgraded valve train parts, and inspected everything. They found that the cam install was fine. They did uncover one issue -- the #1 injector plug was not staying in place. It seems that the metal clip was not doing it's job and may have been able to vibrate the electrical connection loose at high revs.
With a new clip in place, and the new valve springs installed, the car is able to rev without misfiring.
I suspect that the root cause was not the valve springs but was instead the injector not firing properly. When I got back from Shiv's I did a visual inspection and did touch each connector and make sure they were seated. That's when I was able to do a handful of runs without a mis. As I continued to rev the motor the injector plug must have vibrated itself loose again. I pushed on the connectors but never tugged on them, otherwise I would have spotted the issue.
Hopefully this resolves it. I'm going to call Shiv today to schedule what will hopefully be my last dyno appointment.

I'm as eager to get some results as you all are.
I haven't been able to reach Shiv to schedule a dyno day. I just PM'ed him, so hopefully he gets back to me to book an appointment.
