Exclamation To be Tested

Vishnu/Ohlin Suspension -- We've been through no less than 3 different suspension systems (coilovers, bars, camber plates, alignment, etc,.) on our shop car. Every time, we've been coming closer and closer to the holy grail. This time, it looks like we might actually hit it. That is, we hope to finally settle on a suspension package that works magically on the racetrack yet is comfortable and liveable enough to make us not dread the 6000 miles we will be driving between tracks on some of the nastiest roads in North America!

Vishnu Front Brake Upgrade -- Many of us has had issues with the stock front rotors warping under moderate to heavy track usage. The basic vent design leaves a lot to be desired. Started at OTC and continuing through One Lap, we hope to have a proven and fully tested brake upgrade package that is actually an upgrade over stock. Far ighter and much more durable.

XEDE firmware v. 1.8.x -- Closed loop fuel control, high speed data capture, wideband logging, launch control.... Basically, the works. A year's worth of performance driving/testing squeezed over a week's span of time. If this doesn't prove the new firmwards stability, we don't know what will.

Streetable Race Engine Package -- Everyone wants a race motor. Or at least they think so until they drive it around town for a week. In our race car, we have what we believe to be the best dual-use engine set-up we've tested. The bottom end is basically stock with head studs, rod bolts. The block, itself, has 40,000 miles and counting. The heads are heavily ported, big valved and heavy springed. Throw in a sheetmetal intake and you have one heck of an unrestricted top end screamer. But one with no piston slap, a nice stable idle and reasonable emissions. Basically a motor which doesn't attract too much attention yet can be beat on, lap after lap after lap. Or at least that is what we hope

Fatty Wheel/Tire Package -- Want to find out the biggest, widest, stickiets wheel/street tire combo that can be fitted on an EVO? Wait and see...

Cheers,
shiv

It's like you're reading my mind!
Can't wait to see a tested and proven street/race suspension upgrade. By the way, make sure those wheels come in black
Quick question Shiv, speaking of racing... not sure you know much about SCCA auto-x rules, but do you know if you can run your Xede box in an Evo in the ESP (E street prepared) class? I know they allow ECU mods, but since the Xede controls boost, does that make it a no-no?

Thanks!

The ohlins we have are the street/track setup without the remote reservoirs. The custom underbrace will eventually be available as well. Shiv also forgot to mention a few more things we will be testing out as well....

We've only compared the Ohlins to the JICs setup we've offered. The difference is most likely only in spring rates. It will be interesting to see how the Ohlins fair next week. They certainly behave quite differently from the Cusco and JIC setup that has been on the car.

Hm, I will be interested in seeing the results of the Ohlins suspension. I've heard they are a bit soft from some people compared to most other coilovers, but I guess we'll see...

Do they have a single adjustments at the top of the front strut?

Are you guys still considering your own cams? I thought that was something being developed too...

Great news on the rest of the upgrades!

If this is the street/track setup, I believe a member on the board named OGVW has this on his car. He works for the Ohlins company and he is trying new spring rates and supposedly this will be used in the kit offered by Ohlins.

Shiv, are you working with Ohlins on this or are you using your own rates/valving?

Also are these units the PCV series from Japan or are they the units from Sweden?

Thanks,

Steve

No.. Boost mods will put you in Street Mod.

I'm actually hoping to see ECU tuning (flash or piggyback) that will leave the stock boost
setting alone... but so far, I've found none.
