Sorry I couldn't crew for you at HPT, was on the road myself that weekend... certainly didn't look like you needed any track advice from me though... way to tear up the home track with the outright win!

Hey stranger! Heartland was great fun, quite the turnaround from the wet skidpad the day before Originally Posted by jedinite

Hey Shiv, Paul, Brett, et all: what size tires were you using? This thread has stated 275, but that didn't work out, and then 255 and 245's. 17's right?

kdogg,
Nice shot ... and all this time, I thought they were "saving" the car. I think the tires were 255x45x17 and they had to run the sponsored tire manufacturer.

Check out the second pic from the top. Paul doing demonstration, drifting around the skidpad. He held that same 55deg slip angle for 2 laps in a row before I told him to quit it
Then he proceeded to do donuts for 30 seconds, spinning the car around like a top with all four tires burning up.
just silly!

FWIW, we ran 255/40-17 BFG KDs on 17x9 5Zigen wheels. They weren't as sticky as the Yoko rubber that some of the One Lappers ran but they were consistent and didn't overheat when run lap after lap.

I have in-cockpit video of a couple laps around the skidpad (drifting, of course). I'll get it up on the website. Hang tight Originally Posted by cjb

I asked Shiv to run the KD'd because of my past very good experience with them. As Shiv said they are super consistant over the many miles and track sessions we ran. There are several tires that are quicker on ONE flying lap but for the overall extreme length of this years One-Lap I was very happy at the end to have chosen the KD's. Originally Posted by cjb
