Hot Dayuuuum!
Like I said... if you guys could stay in the top 5 overall i'd be ecstatic.
And even more impressive is you guys completing the entire event without breaking anything. A true testament to the Evo's chassis and powertrain. Of course that coupled with some voodoo tuning from Shiv and Paul's awesome driving pack a very powerful punch. I think it's fair to say you guys stung and left many there in awe and garnered some respect both for the car and your combined talents. The Vishnu Evo was as close to grassroots than many of them in the top. Congrats on taking Mid Class, though I never really cared too much, just icing on the cake. Finishing in the top 5 overall is what I was interested in. It's a rather warm feeling when you see the level of competition of the cars in the top 10 and you have this econobox mid-price sedan among them.
Thank you both for taking the time out and putting your names on the line and representing us Evo owners well. Also thanks to those in the background that contributed to make it possible, Ken, Brian, Brett, Brits, Stasis, etc. A round of cheers!

Yeah, and we might be seeing more Evo's competiting in next years One Lap as a result. Alot of eyes were on the Vishnu car, friends and foes
All things considered, it's cheaper to make an Evo go fast, handle and stop than many of the other contenders especially for those that don't have the luxury of being factory backed.
Hey Shiv maybe you can get Mitsubishi to throw you a bone if you guys compete next year for having done well this year.

I was totalled confused as to why there were only 2 Evos entered this year! Hopefully next yer we'll see atleast a handful, and if they include a dirt track or two like previous Cannonballs, I think the Evo sould be an easy shoe in for first over all!

[QUOTE=3M PPF]Daily driver... Um, no. It is as much a daily driver as the rest of the top finishers. Great showing though!!!
Correct me if I am wrong ...but the red Vishnu evo is Shivs own car is it not?
As I understand "a daily driver"

Anyone who has visited our shop knows the red car is a daily driver and Shiv's personal means of transport. He rarely drives anything else.

Talking with Shiv at Hallett, He said it was his own daily driver. Riding with him briefly outside the Hallet facility ( avoiding a near pyrotechnic experience from a return line issue ), it was obvious it was quite an awesome daily driver. Over some really nasty back roads, the suspension was very well damped. Not harsh, not bouncy. *VERY* good. The diffs were a little overly noisy at low speeds for the type, but was told it just needed a rebuild after all their enjoyed usage.
Compared to the near nascar full tube framed trucks and 3 foot high winged vettes and $100k toys, the Evo was a shining star of true practical daily driven sports car euphoria.
The M5s, SRT4, STi, other Subarus, CTS-V are the only others that might have been potential daily drivers. But most all of them had full roll cages which would not allow any access to rear seating, and passanger seating more of an after thought than a real world capability.
If you missed a chance to attend any event near you and see first hand the state of many of these fine machines, you can't get the real picture from all the articles and pictures. There is just too much going on in such a reduced time period. Walking around talking with anyone not sleeping and seeing how much has gone into many of this cars is overwhelming.
The yellow Audi S4 had no interior, full roll cage, and was not a car I would consider a daily driver by any means.

3M - Don't miss out on stopping by an event near you next year. You'll probably be turned on your ear as to what you see.
