Dyno4mance/Vishnu dyno day results thread.

The Dyno charts show much of the info about the A/Fs as well as the shape of the power/torque curves. I think the reason the ppl throw hp numbers around is because it's aquick and easy way to keep score....

There seems to be a common denominator here. I have alot of respect for many tuners out there, ( shiv being one of them ) But there seems to be one " vendor " / self proclaimed tuner that seems to cause problems time and time again. Unlike some vendors with one employee ( himself ) , Vishnu and just about every other vendor on this site runs a legit business and shouldnt have to deal with coming on every 10min to try and defend what he /or she does from someone who has nothing to do all day but play on the internet. This same person posts on numerous sites try to obtain a rise out of anyone that will listen. I have not the time nor the energy to pursue this crazyness.. as im sure shiv and every other " tuner " shares the same view. In the end its you guys that matter and like xstang said I just want a safe tune that makes power....

Mark...this is what my time slip says 1.836 60 foot 12.937 1/4mile and 104.89mph...thats one and the second 1.846 60 foot 12.995 1/4mile and 105.66mph...this isnt good driving keep in mind with a stock clutch...im better then most drivers and my ET does match my mile per hour...I talked to a few others and the car should be hitting 110MPH...im not saying its ure tuning at all something is wrong with the car...Maybe there is a boost leak ure service and install was excellent but dont blame my driving. With my mods and good tuning any evo should be opening up 110-111MPH...may tuners have agreed upon this. No worries U guys are great cant wait to see what your the orange evo does next good luck and u will be hearing from me.

I had you turn the boost down until you came back down and i'll fix the boost cut problem. Its prob a 5 min fix. You trapping 106mph is right for 312whp... Keep in mind this number was uncorrected. I'll find out your sae number and maybe you can compare this to someone else. With a 5.3 330' and a 1.9 60' .. Your car with a good 1-2 shift will go 12.6. Ron with the blue evo traps 118mph and runs 11.7 on pump he made 404 whp on the stock turbo. So in your theory does almost 90 more hp only make 8 mph.. Having your boost back up to 21psi , on a cooler day ..and then post back up what your car goes through the traps at ....

Now, for each and every person who does their own tuning and has enough expertise and skill to tune on the road with the wide band O2 sensor and perhaps a knck sensor, there are lots more folks who do not tune their own cars and they want to see records of what the tuner has done.
Also, although after a while one can begin to feel and understand the correlation between ETs & Traps speeds to HP and TQ. numbers, it's still very difficult to assertain when one has an effective yet safe tune.
BostonsEvo, 312 whp on Shiv's dyno or at Dyno4mance might net you the times you are looking for but 312 on a Dynojet seems like a 12.6-12.9 at 105-107 is about right depending on driving skills and conditions. Your car is fine run it on a different track or in better conditions and you will see variances in trap speeds and ets. Put some race gas in the tank and up the boost to 23psi and run a low 12.
Ya I hear where u comming from but the funny thing is everyone I talked to and people with the same mods are opening up 110+ in 1/4 mile...i mean one person is even doing 114!mph...I dont expect that but I do expect 110 or even 109...put it this way I had another evo before this I only had the p1 flash from works rally it doesnt even play with boost levels. I opened up 104.9 at the end of the 1/4 mile the car was complelty bone stock!...just a flash no exhaust no intake...so if ure saying that my car with a mail in flash was putting close to 312 to the wheels then what the point of doing cams test pipe and so on...waste of money?...why doesnt everyone go and do the flash...this wouldnt make sense my car is lacking power...u cant sit here and tell me a car with all the mods listed above in the convo cant open up 110mph...if it really cant and this is pruven with other cars with same mods then people should be carefull and not void there waranties or waste money....I dont blame anyone...im going to another tuner soon to get a second opinion and a second tuning to see what the car is doing...then I will run the car and keep everyone posted on how I do and what the car does. Thanxs

. Yet I continue to read about 12 second 110 mph stock evos all the time...... IIRC, the fastest EVOs to run at the Commerce GA dragstrip do not break 108 mph and for sure they are not stock..... I think another guy ran his stock EVO and managed pretty much the same ETs and traps that I did with my almost stock EVO.I have a question that might explain some of this puzzle. The RWD cars (Mustangs) can generally can break into the high 12's and 104-110 mph by dynoing around 280 whp (lots of mods) and using slicks and 4.11 to 4.51 rear ends.
The more powerful cars such as the Firebirds, Camaros and Corvettes can generally run high 12's in stock form but I think they make more than 280 whp
I know the Mustangs are very close in weight to the EVOs (I don't know about the GM cars). It would seem that the AWD would have an edge in traction so their ETs would be generally lower, but the trap speeds should be roughly the same. Would the hp to trap speed calculations not be the same for all cars? If it takes 280+ RWHP to achieve, lets say 110 mph should that not apply to AWD cars as well?
Just wanted to say thanks to the guys at Dyno4mance, Shiv and John (GroceryTurbo) for letting me borrow his coil packs. I have the wrx with the 2.5 sti block and am very happy with the tune. The 255whp doesn't tell the whole story. The 283lbs of torque at 3400 rpms is alot of fun.
thanks again for staying so late and getting me tuned.
