Eric, when you buy an extended warranty from a dealer, those contracts are offered through a 3rd party company but those are still honored at a dealership as any factory warranty. So who writes the contract through the dealer does not matter, the dealer goes through the same claim process. I think you guys need to step back and think about what this threads intended purpose was. I offered up the Dinan example because it offers warranty coverage for mods installed by the dealer. It is that point where I feel may feel comfortable if they were to seriously consider incorporating something of this nature as a factory-backed program. Debating about BMW's or the merits/costs of Dinan mods adds nothing, as it is not even relevant to the discussion.

And Eric, please tell me you didn't spell stupid as "stuped". Thanks for the laughs.

No not close its sponsorship for drag racing. Thats their original car (that they bought) just with updated body panels. the ESX crew does welland should be commended but its not a factory backed dealer option like this thread is talking about.

I guess you could say we have sponsorship from Mitsu with 2 cars.

Which is probably the reason why whole thread started. I still don't understand why hasn't made any real attempt the take advantage of the Ralliart brand name for Evo's in way similar to TRD. Makes me scratch my head and they never respond to any of my inquires. They are losing out on such a strong income potential that I can only shake my head. if your trolling these boards, pull your head out! Hell, offer performance packages w/o warranty, I'm at the stage anyway.

Could you imagine all the hate from jealousy Shiv would have to assume if he were to get such a deal with Mitsu. Opps my bad that already exist in a cancerous magnitude in So Cal.My point is I wonder what the new mudslinging tactics that other vendors would be forced to use to compete. You think it is ugly now. Man I can only imagine how much uglier it would get if Shiv and company became even more successful. Shiv you get a deal like this and you better invest in bullet proof Pradas and body guards bigger than Smoggie and Tron.

I would hate to start trouble but Shiv is the best as what he does. Reliability, Drivability and Performance. No other Tuning house has really been able to put this together with bolt on packages like Vishnu has, with out sacfricing one for another.

And guys how many other US tuners got one free EVO let alone two.

You are not starting trouble, but there is no way to objectively, quantitatively qualify that "Shiv is the best". Shiv has met your needs as an enthusiast, and that's all good. I think what starts the flaming wars with all this stuff is the insistence that we all have of trumpeting the merits of our selected tuner ABOVE the merits of other tuners. In so many cases it is indeed apples and oranges.

Hagakure, you are right but that is not the real world . As you know I was a Works customer also and i was at the ATP dyno day a while back and i believe I met you(maybe not).To me Works did not satisfy my need for speed. The p2 and goodies made my car marginally faster and on par with a Stock Sti but that was not good enough for my competitive disposition.I switched to Vishnu and am happy but I have never in my life felt so ostercized in my life by people for being associated with Vishnu and his tuning. It appears the better his tuning gets and the more accolades he is able to achieve; it will likely only fester more hatred from jealous tuners and their customers that are good but maybe a step down or more conservative. Btw Hagakure I am happy for you that Works satisfied your need for speed but I feel I got great power from Vishnu with a good margin of safety.

I think I do remember meeting. I'm glad you are happy with Vishnu, that's great. I don't take exception with Vishnu as a company at all. Probably the main reason why I opted to not purchase their products is Shiv's public persona. Notice I said public persona, or rather my take on that persona. I have no idea what is real personality is, as I don't know him, and many of us are often bifrocated concerning our private and business peroonas. there is just too much arrogance, and the infighting with Al sealed the issue for me. I also would not have been happy with just the P2, but the TR-340 package has worked out nicely, and my car is a LOT faster than a stock STI. With the addition of water injection and a little more radical tune, I'll be even happier. You hit the nail on the head regarding your "need for speed". It's all relative. I don't question Shiv's abilities at all, he is objectively very good at what he does, events like one-lap and the recent tuner shoot-out are concrete examples of this, and no one in the evo tuner community has mastered the art of marketing like he has, that is undisputable. So, that being said, there is something for everyone, and no one should be castigated for going with whatever tuner they decide meets their needs.

Peace.

Was your Evo black because I think we hung out a lil on that day. I had the yellow evo. I was the big dorky guy. Also yeah when Shiv arrived with his highly tuned Evo that put down alot of power it did make me a lil envious and I did notice a lil hint of arrogance from Shiv and his crew but arrogance is a byproduct of confidence. Look at people that are the best at what they do or at the top of their profession. Depending on how you want to subjectively look at their demeanor it could either be deduced as confidence or arrogance.

No, My Evo is silver...I was a little bummed because it ws not making the power I expected, but it turned out to be due to another issue that has been resolved, not the P2. Well, arrogance is sometimes a by product of confidence, agreed. But to me, that is not necessarily a virtue. Grace and confidence is the best combination, or the nadir of competency in my opinion. It's like the difference between Michael Jordan and Walter Payton's personalities. They were both amazing, comanding athletes, but Payton was also an amazing and inspiring individual; confident, competent, kind, helpful. That's what I look for in people I want to give my business to, and how I strive to run my business affairs as well. Hey man, you gotta quit laying that Dork tag on yourself!!
