I did testing with the pump activated for long peroids of time and it never even shut down or overheated. Like you say hopefully time will tell, but I hope none do fail for the owners sake. Just makes safegards that much more important.

We all know who can hook us up with the alkycontrol kit also.

Sorry, here is one just stating the pump is good for street use but no tech details.

As you have pointed out - these kits work without flaw and the pump has proven to be a great unit

Sadly other kits on the market - e.g. aqua mist can not work on 100% alcohol while the SMC kit can do 100% water - any mix of alcohol and a 100% alcohol also

Zero reports of ANY Pump failures what so ever

Its just such a shame to see a manufacturer comming onto these foums and participating in these kind of attacks on a competeing product

AL, STOP IT!

You are interesting in making your $$$, think of these poor folks using the LF122202 pump. Call Flojet - Engineering Support, (949) 859 4945 and talk to them directly! The pump IS NOT DESIGNED TO RUN ANYTHING THAN WATER AT 35 PSI MAX - NOT DESIGNED TO RUN ALCOHOL!

SMC: If you see this, i would like to see an explaination for your decision on using the Flojet LF122202 rather than time proven Shurflos. Thank you.

I have just read the thread again,

(Al?), how did I bash our competitor? I didn't start the thread.

The only comment I was making was the pump will still bearing load in a blocked condition (no flow). I have been an engineer all my life, it is difficult for me to accept inaccurate statements, ie: no flow= no work.

Please don't get to over-sensitive on a small engineering matter I didn't think it was not totally accurate. FIY, I did recommend the use of this pump as a priming pump for our system before, I have no unreliability issue on it (with cut-out switch).

Al, Richard has said nothing wrong, he is a very knowledgeble engineer and all he is doing is trying to answer our questions, helping us out and trying to promote the art of water/alcohol injection.

I was the one who talked to Flojet, i was the one that dug out the product data sheet - I am the one that you should be coming after, if you want - not Richard.

Technically it is not doing any work. Check your definition of work maybe it’s different than the one I have assumed to be correct all these years.

WORK; (Mech.) The causing of motion against a resisting force. The amount of work is proportioned to, and is measured by, the product of the force into the amount of motion along the direction of the force.

It is hard to argue with or even talk to somebody that’s been an engineer all there life. It takes most people years of schooling to accomplish that. I’m sure your parents were very proud when you were born.

i have edited my remarks

I simply want to say that the SMC kits which I sell have been working fine - ZERO reported problems of any kind in the pump

They are backed by a 100% satisfaction warranty and a 100% repair warranty

if it fails SMC fixes it right away and he has been very good about it

Thus far NOT ONE of these new pumps has failed
