Thanks for the info TTP. I thought that the relay could only be created with maftpro for some reason.

How would the relay be created with ebc or mbc users? What additional pieces are needed.

Well we use it with maftpro on our own 2005 MR to switch maps from 30psi and lean AFR to 22psi and 11.5AFR automatically in the case of a safeguard trigger.

In an effort to reduce the cost to have a bulletproof meth system without the need for MAFTPro piggyback, but still have protection, we came up with a new system comprised of $65 or so in parts to do a very similar safeguard function as we do with the maftpro.

With this new setup one is able to retain the stock ECU in a "dual-ish" stage mapping that is safe without meth spray on a safeguard triggered event and high powered on meth injection spray event.

Quote: There is a lot that can fail with meth kits. The best bet is to not skimp out. You NEED a wideband. Anyone using meth without a WBO2 is an impending Evo part out ad waiting to happen. Furthermore a bulletproof safeguard is important with either map switching or boost cut to protect you.

Our products are available at www.ttp-engineering.com/store

The wideband system combo is pictured here:

I was more worried about sloshing and running empty while road racing. I know I could go for a 50 trim, but I'm sure I can get 400 ft. lbs. at the wheels with stock turbo and alky.

Which is why the standard installation of our kit uses the rear washer tank. Because it is tall and not wide you do not get lateral sloshing of the tank. It is a non-issue.

For anyone that is curious about the checkvalve placement and the vacuum line/map setup on this kit let me clarify a few things. In our shop we tested this system with 15 feet of hose between the checkvalve and injector. We also tested this with 15 feet of vacuum line going from the boost source to the controller. You can run your map sensor wires if you dont want to run vacuum line.

The results? The system injects instantly from the point the controller sends instruction to the pump. Also, the hose shuts off instantly. There is less than a second from the time the pump shuts off till the time when the hose stops dripping.

The first time you put water in the tank from an empty situation it will take atleast 6 seconds to pressurize the line. As long as you dont run out of water, everything is instant after that. This is due to the checkvalve. When running this test without the checkvalve the line takes longer to pressurize and takes longer to shut off.

We just want to make everyone aware that we designed this kit like this for a reason and you are giving absolutely no performance and gaining alot of convenience of install/maintenance.

Need help! Anybody know how to wire up the coolingmist low-level sensor? Also need verification that we can indeed run 100% meth on the black pumps as mine has a label that says to run no higher than a 50/50 mix.

Our pumps old after 10/6/2006 are capable of 100% meth. The low level float switch in your system will not float in 100% meth. We are working on one that will be ready in about a month, it will float in methanol. When you wire it, its like any switch, you can use it as a ground for an LED.

The pump says 50/50 for liability reasons. After 10/6, they had EPDM seals which can handle 100% meth.

TTP (Scott) -- Is your Alk / Meth kit good for 100% Meth? The site says Meth compatible but does not say anything about the seals or what % Meth it can handle?

Also, on the Evo 9, can one buy a tank (~1.5 - 2 gallons) to fit in the rear trunk compartment (drivers side) so as to maintain the stock rear washer fluid tank? Thanks

I have only used 100% meth for 2 years. All kits I install and tune are only on 100% meth. The kit is designed for it. Yes you can add any size tank you want.
