Dan,
I had to uninstall my kit because I thought I would have to sell the evo. I got the lay off from work. But I should have a job within a month so I am going to put her back together and if I can get that discount for that nickle coated nozzle we talked about while ago i would still like to order it.
but my question for you is, what is your advice on tuning MIVEC while running meth/water injection. Should I leave it alone, or should I decrease it more uptop.
thanks.

Hope the new job comes through and you are able to keep the Evo.

Send me a PM or email about the nozzles you need.

50/50 mix will richen AFR by 1/2pt. So if you are at 11.5, W/M puts you at 11.0. You can then lean out fueling, increase boost, or add timing to put AFR back to 11.5.

On the Evo if you have the Fail Safe, you can lean out to 12.2-12.3 and pick up some good power.

Best regards,

Dan

Dan -- I was told that it was best to run 100% Meth. Do you think a 50/50% mix would yield better results (and why)? Also, with a 50/50 blend, what is the best way to consistently get the same blend (do you use a clear gas can that you can see the quantity)? Thanks

Best would all depend on what your goals are for your car. We have customers that run 100% water to 100% or mix ratio in between.

If you are looking for max hp, then best is 100% as you are using it as a secondary fuel source.

If you are looking for additional air charge cooling, increased knock resistance, and more consistent engine performance and don't care so much about more hp, then 100% water would be best.

I like 50/50 for a few reasons - it is safe, does very well at air charge cooling and increased detonation control, makes good power, lower operating costs.

If you mix your own fluid get a 5gallon gas can to mix in. Use a 1gallon washer fluid bottle, for example, and mark a line near the top.
Fill the 1gallon bottle with meth to the line and then add to gas can. Next fill it to the line with distilled water. Add water to 5gallon gas can and note mix will start to get warm

Hope this helps, let me know if you have more questions.

Best regards,

Dan

Dan,

Has anyone been able to wire in Tephra's V5 alt map switch in with the Labonte Failsafe? I saw user scheides wire his HFS-1 in so that in case of any issue it switches his map down to his daily pump gas map set for less boost, etc.

Also, for someone with all bolt on's (cams, TBE, FMIC) which single nozzle setup would be best? Or should I kick it up to dual nozzle?

Our largest single nozzle is an M14, good for up to 850hp with our 250psi pump.

What is your estimated HP and boost you want to run?

Our Fail Safe units output a 12v trigger in the event of flow fault (IFS-10) or the IFS-30 outputs trigger when meth is flowing. If the V5 can accept a 12v siganl then I am sure it can be done.

Where can I find the wiring diagram for the IFG-30 gauge? Or can someone just tell me which wire goes where?

Bumping this back to the top. I love dealing with Dan on these kits.

I've been running the same setup I installed in these pictures for almost a year now. Or fall, winter, spring, and now summer. Car has been driven every day since. No problems to speak of. No fail safes. Not a single hiccup.
I run 50/50. Car never knocks. Ever. Even @ 12.5-1 A/F 28psi and almost 20* of timing. And it isn't a stock turbo car either.

Best mod I put on the car bar none.

The best news is, every customer I have sold a kit to has had similar results. No problems, and made a bunch more power. For guys unlucky enough to be stuck with 91 octane this is the grand equalizer.

The kits are solid, affordable, and they WORK. 365 days a year.

Iv'e been running the same controller built/designed by LaBonte since 2005 and the same IFS built/designed/sold by LaBonte since 2007. Everything set the same for at least a year, not a single false trigger. I had to run the tank dry to see if it still works.

I bought my kit over 6 months ago and still haven't got it working. I gave up there for a while because it kept tripping the failsafe. I just started working on it again so hopefully next weekend I can get a chance to finish what I started and get it working properly. I finally got the gauge installed tonight.

I know someone asked on a previous thread about install pics. I'm looking for some too. All my stuff is mounted to the strut bar for now but I'm not a big fan of it there. Definitely when I take the IM/TB off.

I might go ahead and give that a try next weekend if I get time and have enough tubing to do so. Thanks for the idea.

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the BBK-10 I believe? I went to the labontemotorsports website and all they have posted is the BBK-20. Anyone know if this is an upgraded failsafe? A lot of us were having problems with the -10 I know.
