Meth injection advise.

Hey guys, I'm a member on dsmtuners and recently became a member on here too.

Anyways, the other day I read on here that people were complaining about cracking pistons with meth injection because the meth and water don't make it all the way to the 1st piston.

basically I just need some extra cooling because I'm running 9:1 pistions with a evo 3 intake manifold (it has no EGR valve)

2 options I have are to get the NOS intercooler sprayer kit and I couldn't possibly crack pistons that way and I will have good cooling effects, but the down side is that it isn't practical for me. NOS is expensive to fill and doesn't last long.

My other option is to run a meth injection kit. I would run a 50/50 mix with the AEM 1 gallon kit.

They redid their pump so now it runs more constant but could I have problems with this and the whole piston thing?

mike sure did stur up alot on meth kits. but alot of infomation has been put out in the last few days. but this is what explained it best to me id say(see vid). and a HUGE factor is the tuning and fail safes which is causing these issues. these new style pumps seem to solve the dribble problem of excess spray.

A new pump will not solve the run-on/dribble problem, but an inline solenoid valve will.

Thanks guys, So the best thing to do would be to get the AEM kit and run a inline solenoid valve with it.

On top of that, make sure I have a good tune?

If I do the above, there shouldn't be any worries of pistons cracking or anything?

Also how far away should the nozzle be?

alternatively, you can consider an aquamist HFS-3 system, comes with valve as standard.

I have put 50,000 miles on a Devil's own progressive kit over the past 4 years with no issues, which works out to be a TON of the blue stuff.

i know the aquamist kits also come with that flow switch that senses the flow of meth and goes to a fail safe when u get real low on meth not to mess up your engine...do the aem and other kits offer that now as well??
