wow maybe the AZ quote of all time!!

You know I think I may have been one of the ones that suffered most from the whole "hype" thing in AZ. But as soon as I realized exactly what your saying, that was when I learned to adjust my way of thinking and enjoy my Evo, F*^$ the rest!

good words for thought, but my project won't really set any records & since cars have already run faster than 11.49 on stock turbo in other states,, it's not proving anything either (at least not here on evom). it's mainly a test to see if my method of car building works or doesn't work as opposed to doing what everybody else does-big turbo/big motor/expensive ecu...

housedj - can you shoot me a pm or send an email to mike AT mikemaez.com when your car is finished. I may have some opportunities for it in the magazine world. Thanks.

car is now running!!!! just need to break in trans, get a 4wheel alignment, order a pedal stop (had to fab 1 cuz the guy didn't send it w/clutch), drop radiator in when it gets in, & get a coolant flush.

took it around the block & the Tilton Twin is remarkably smoother than stock. very low noise during engaging. also a lot less clutch pedal travel which should improve my shifting time by at least 25-50% especially if i can get that Works short shifter kit.

now if only i can find a job...

Now thats a good looking AZ radiator!

My mind is building a 2.3L w/ hogged head, balance shaft delete, cam gears to play w/my 269 cams, Green 20glt, 93 octane, 660's, 22psi, stock IC, (lower pipe - hidden) totally stock looking engine bay w/heat shields, just to see what will happen at sea level. Only reason to pop hood would be to clean air filter, change oil & deny mods. Main inve$tment will go between the magnesium top and the crank scraper. Idea is to completely maximize the factory footprint on pump gas with only giveaway being mild cam lope and an exhaust. Im thinking 118-120 traps. If anything it will torque like a **** & be hella easier to drive.

For more boost and staying sneaky get a full size, hollow Die Hard battery case (fake) display unit from a Sears store to cover/connect to the real mini battery & meth-kit plumbing coming through underneath to turn the boost up on the green & be sneaky for 120+.

broke it again dangit...

well car was broke in & went to run it during an episode of Pinks filming in PHX, AZ & split the xfer case after they interviewed me launching it. no fluid leaked on track so that's a good sign. trans still goes into gear which is also good. i will have to check to see if the Quaife took any damage as well. car back to sitting again. hopefully not another 2 yrs...
