^^^ Hey House Dj,
Do you realize that your 11.49 sec stock Evo8 turbo project is about to be 2 years old?
(since Dec 2005)
The best of luck but as far as I am aware still no one ever ran a better than a 12.1 or 12.2 on the stocker turbo(evo 8) yet without NOS in AZ.

as far as the time, that's what makes it a challenge. it seems alot of guys in az built up these big turbo cars & then theire cars run SLOWER than it did w/stock turbo. i know the fastest stock turbo in az was around 11.0 but he didn't drive it so i don't count that one. the fastes IX a guy actually drove @ firebird was 11.7 @ 114.
so i think its still a relevant project especially bcuz no one has or cares to do it. how have your cars been running? still fast?
Yeah, that 11.7@114 must be Mike(AZ EVO IX MR) which deserves all the credit in the world for actually going to the track all the time. Mike is a guy like me that goes to the track routinely.

yeah that was Mike. since he has a IX, that is the time i'm looking to beat. the last time i ran my car it was a second slower than his time on a slipping clutch (12.72@107, 1.72 60ft). when he ran that time his power was 337whp/368tq. my numbers are 324whp/368tq so i'm thinking that i if i can pull off a 1.5 60ft i might get close to the time but be slightly slower on trap speed since i have the smaller stock evo8 turbo & no cams or intercooler. with cams & the i'c, i'm pretty certain i can achieve &/or beat that time. to get 11.49 i may have to tune on VP Import (120octane leaded).
if all goes well, everything will b back in by thanksgiving wknd. i'm also looking into picking up a Cobb AccessPORT so that i no longer have to rely on a shop for tuning. especially since i will have the family completely moved to Florida by June '08.
i have also contacted Sunoco & VP Fuels to discuss dropshipping racegas to my Chandler, AZ house for the sake of convenience. there's nothing that sucks more than needing racefuel & the shop(s) u get it from is closed or the local racegas station has run out...

Hey House, long time no talk bro...hope things are well your way.
Getting shops to look at the driveline of an Evo in Phoenix are non existant. I guess it is too complicated or something for the shops here. Good luck beating that 11.7 The weather is definately looking better to do so.

no need for VP import, C16 will be more than enough for the stock turbo. I ran 11.4 at 118 on 100 octane, gained some more power on VP MS109 as I could run more timing, I don't think I would gain much more from using c-16, it made 406 and 448 ft lbs on stock turbo. That should be plenty for your goal.

since u have a IX, i would be looking at probly around 30whp less in power on that same fuel even with cams. IX compressor + mivec is like a cammed evo8 w/bigger turbo but NO ONE in az has ran 11's with an evo8 yet on the stocker. the closest guy is Jamie in Anthem AZ with a yellow '05. he ran 12.05@114 w/280cams & a few other parts on 23psi at Speedworld last Sat...
and marve thinks hes going to run 12.00 on 25psi
I wonder how long its going to take for ppl to realize evos arent drag machines.I will be the first to admit that sometime ago I was a die hard drag racer... till i watched first hand how much of a beating our cars take, and for what 12 seconds?
but like any thread on this board, "to each their own."
good luck house, you know i got your back and i will be there every sat till ol' #2 is up and running again!
