Thumbs up

tires are on. they grip so well that the driveline has trouble making the power hot out of a turn. over 85mph they have a nice "howl" to them. they do sit a 1/4" lower than stock tires & they ride like they're flat but who cares. they should make for a nice launch as i could hear the cars behind me getting pelted with road debris. they have a treadwear of 60 so i will get at least a year out of them since this is a weekend car.

will be running @ Firebird this friday. clutch is surviving for now. maybe a couple more launches left. we'll see...

HouseDJ,

I might go there and see you racing. How far are you from finishing?, what are you expecting to run on Friday? Those tires look very good. I have a full set of brand new Toyos t1-s (spare) on my garage, I am also wearing a brand new set of Yoko 100s.

It looks like you are back in the right track (one of the best Clutches and one heck of tire set). It would be awsome if you could run at least once in Tucson(SIR).

if i'm lucky & pull a 1.7 or lower 60', i'll the 12.3-12.5 range & trap around 110-111(no cams yet). i would like to try Tucson's track but since i only use 104 octane & average 7MPG, i wouldn't make it there...

Off course you can.. what are you talking about, turn the boost down. When I go to Phoenix I am cruising at 85mph and 0 psi of boost. You can run 91oct, just don't race it until you get to Tucson, then add the 104oct.

Reagardless of what you run in Phoenix, please lets us know, I am not concern if you run slow, I just want to know your trap speeds etc.

I am expecting you to run slower than ususal in your first runs because you are not use to the new clutch nor the tires.

Per instance, I did pathetic 60' with the new clutch, I expected to get consistent 1.6s and I ended getting even worst 60' times with my new Exedy Twin Disc than before with my stock and supersoft MR clutch.

My 60' runs from last weekend were all in the 1.8 except the last one which I did a 1.7.

I am as curious as anyone else, but could you spit the beans and tell us your mods or are you still keeping it stealthy until you are satisfied?

Carlos

i choose not to ever run 91octane bcuz $7/gallon for race fuel is cheaper than a new motor.

clutch is not in yet so i'm still on the stock one.

Power mods are: K&N drop-in, 3" Perrin DP, 3" Perrin test, 3" Espelir JGTC catback, 10.5hotside, Hallman Pro RX MBC, flash(shop wishes to remain nameless), Walbro FP, NGK 2 step colder plugs, wastegate mod, Royal Purple fluids

Suspension mods are: RMR lower subframe brace, Cusco OS rear strut tower bar, Cusco adj 25mm rear sway bar (set to medium holes), Perrin rear sway bar endlinks, Yokohama Advan A032R tires (S compound)

Brake mods are: Project MU NS brake pads, Motul RBF600 brake fluid

How come you went with the A032R instead of the A048?

Oh word. That's a pretty good reason. LOL I was thinking of getting the A048 on my next set of tires, but they're damn expensive. I might end up with Toyo RA1s instead or the Falken RT615.

Size is 255/40/17. I'm on the fence right now with whether I want to keep my Evo as a weekend only car or start daily driving it again and sell my Civic. At this point I'm leaning towards selling my Civic and going back to daily driving the Evo, so probably a 160 treadwear at least.
