for them
Thanks for the update. Oh yeah, I forgot, there is a guy here from Tucson(Mr vanderpool or something like that that is going to NOPI next week and he is putting a Aexi RX6 turbo on his Evo, just like yours, he also has all the good stuff like Alcohol kit, bigger intercooler etc, etc. The car is slilver with ENKEI NT03rims, it sounds promising.

Just to give you an update my car is indeed ready to rumble since Sunday. I don't want to disappoint anyone on the forum but I must clarify that you might not see the duel that you were so long waiting for.
Let me elaborate more on that, first of all, the wetaher prediction for the weeekend is windy, cold and rainy for AZ, just to give you an idea last weekend we got a lot of snow in Tucson in the mountains and in the countryside.
Secondly, I strongly belive Housedj will not have his car ready for the event which by the way I am not critizing him at all, $hit happens
Last but not least, I truly don't think that we could be alignned at the same time at the same track, there are hundreds of cars at the track and mostlikely there is a slim chance we actually could run simultaneously.
You guys know my goal, first Evo in the 11's in AZ with stock turbo, everything else is secondary to me.
By the way HouseDJ and in case you are interested, I found the same clutch I have for $100 cheaper than any other vendor and my clutch was done on the same day by a local friend. Just let me know if I can assit you.
Carlos.

Update
just ordered a set of Yokohama Advan A032R's. they will arrive by Fedex in 3 days. they have been discontinued & replaced by the Advan A048 so i got them 1/2 off thru www.tirerack.com for $146/each. Treadwear is 60 so i should have excellent grip...

HouseDJ,
After I raced yesterday at Firebird the more reservations that I have about you runing 11.49 on stock turbo.
I think you will need either a stroker, a bigger block, a lot of NOS and/or all the mods mentioned plus other bolt ons.
Just for as reference, I ran 12.2 several times and 112 several times but I think I am .1 or maybe .2sec of my limit and maybe 1-2mph from my limit.
My clutch was new but my 60' were all worst than when I use to have my original clutch which use to help me to achieve constant 1.70.
You know me man, I am not trying to be a hater but I honestly think you will have extremely hard time to achieve your goal of 11.49 with stock turbo..it is that hard!!
Topnotchevo's wife ran a 12.78@115 on race gas but her car has a full turbokit and all the good mods.
12monkys ran a 12.2@around 115 with his turbokit and pure 100% oct gas
I don't know what your strategy is but I see your project being really tough I still wish you luck unconditionally because I think what you are trying to do is a monumental challenge.
Keep us informed

because it is a challenge & difficult in AZ is why i am stepping up. i am sure it is possible w/ an ATS clutch as i have seen back to back 1.6 60's with that clutch. also it will NOT happen w/out cams. i will use cams w/@ least 11.8mm lift or higher for that added topend needed down the 2nd 1/2 of the track. bcuz my flash already has 23-25 degrees of advanced timing, it should be noted that cams will be the ticket...
Housedj,
I am not saying you can't make it, I am saying and reitareting that you will need just about every mod you can get out there including racegas, new tires, good realiable clutch, etc.
I give you all the credit in the world trying to attemp the 11.49 stock turbo in AZ.
